THE EVENT IS TO RAISE FUNDS TO SUPPORT LOCAL PARTICIPATING HOSPICES TO CONTINUE TO OFFER QUALITY, END-OF-LIFE CARE AND TO EDUCATE THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT HOSPICE CARE. PARTICIPANTS SUPPORT HOSPICE CUP BY RACING IN THE REGATTA, PARTICIPATING IN THE DINGHY POKER RUN, WATCHING THE RACE ACTION FROM THE SPECTATOR BOAT, JOINING THE SHORE PARTY, OR SIMPLY DONATING TIME AND/OR MONEY TO THE EVENT.
