TO SECURE PRIVATE FUNDS THAT INCREASE ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION AND SUPPORT AACC PROGRAMS

SUPPORT OF COLLEGE PROGRAMS:THE FOUNDATION'S FOCUS HAS HISTORICALLY BEEN ON PROVIDING SCHOLARSHIPS TO ANNE ARUNDEL COMMUNITY COLLEGE STUDENTS, WHICH REMAINS ONE OF THE FOUNDATION'S PRIMARY PURPOSES. HOWEVER, AS THE COMPLEXITIES OF A 21ST CENTURY EDUCATION INCREASE, ADDITIONAL RESOURCES IN AREAS SUCH AS TECHNOLOGY, EQUIPMENT, DEPARTMENTAL SUPPORT, FACILITIES, STUDENT ENRICHMENT AND INNOVATION HELP PROTECT THE COLLEGE'S POSITION OF STRENGTH. GENEROUS CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE AACC FOUNDATION ALLOW THE FOUNDATION TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR SUCH NEEDS THAT CANNOT BE MET BY THE COLLEGE'S ANNUAL BUDGET. SEE SCHEDULE O FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS ON PROGRAM SUPPORT DISBURSED IN THE CURRENT YEAR.THESE CONTRIBUTIONS PROTECT THE COLLEGE'S MARGIN OF EXCELLENCE AND ENSURE A REGIONAL VITALITY POWERED BY AN EDUCATED CITIZENRY AND WORKFORCE.THE ANNE ARUNDEL COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOUNDATION DONATED THE CLAUSON CENTER FOR INNOVATION AND SKILLED TRADES BUILDING TO ANNE ARUNDEL COMMUNITY COLLEGE. THE CLAUSON CENTER WILL ADDRESS THE GROWING NEED FOR SKILLED TRADE WORKERS IN THE COMMUNITY. PROGRAMS AT THE CLAUSON CENTER FOR INNOVATION AND SKILLED TRADES WILL SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF THOSE WITH TALENT AND ABILITIES TO EXCEL IN THESE FIELDS. THE NEARLY 11,500 SQ FT BUILDING IS DESIGNED TO ACCOMMODATE DYNAMIC PROGRAMMING THAT ADAPTS TO JOB MARKET DEMANDS. THERE WILL BE SIX INAUGURAL PROGRAMS OF ELECTRICAL, FORKLIFT OPERATOR, HVAC, PLUMBING, WELDING AND GENERAL CONTRACTING WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXPANDING THE FACILITY BASED ON THE DEMANDS OF THE WORKFORCE.
SCHOLARSHIPS:ANNE ARUNDEL COMMUNITY COLLEGE (AACC) IS ONE OF THE MOST AFFORDABLE COMMUNITY COLLEGES IN MARYLAND YET MANY CURRENT AND PROSPECTIVE AACC STUDENTS DEMONSTRATE FINANCIAL NEED AND REQUIRE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN ORDER TO ENROLL AT THE COLLEGE. THE PRIVATELY FUNDED SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM AT ANNE ARUNDEL COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOUNDATION, INC. PROVIDES THAT AID FOR HUNDREDS OF STUDENTS EACH YEAR.
