MID-ATLANTIC LIFESPAN HAS 191 FACILITY MEMBERS AND 87 ASSOCIATE MEMBERS. IT ORGANIZED SEVERAL FREE PEER MEETINGS THROUGHOUT THE STATE ABOUT DISSCUSSION TOPICS IMPORTANT TO THE MEMBERSHIP. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO ADVOCATED FOR ITS MEMBERS ON VARIOUS STATE WORKGROUPS, SUCH AS MADC ADVISORY COMMITTEE, MEDICAID DUAL ELIGIBLE WORKGROUP, HSCRC TOTAL COST OF CARE WORKGROUP AND THE NURSING HOME LIAISON COMMITTEE. LIFESPAN IS THE MAIN LIAISON BEFORE THE MARYLAND GENERAL ASSEMBLY ON LEGISLATIVE AND BUDGET ITEMS BETWEEN SENIOR CARE PROVIDERS AND THE STATE AS WELL AS BEING THE MAIN CONTACT BETWEEN THE SENIOR CARE INDUSTRY AND STATE AGENCIES. LIFESPAN TRACKS HUNDREDS OF BILLS AND HAD PROVIDED TESTIMONY ON APPROXIMATELY 87 LEGISLATIVE PROPOSALS.(SEE SCHEDULE O FOR CONTINUATION.)IT COMMUNICATES REGULATORY, LEGISLATIVE AND ADVOCACY INFORMATION TO ITS MEMBERS MONTHLY BY EMAILS, WEBINARS, AND E-NEWSLETTERS. THE MONTHLY NEWSLETTER ALSO INFORMS MEMBERS OF CURRENT EVENTS, SHOWCASES OUR PROVIDERS' ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND PROVIDES INFORMATIVE INFORMATION WHICH INCLUDES UPCOMING SEMINARS.
