JOTF IS A WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM THAT SEEKS TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO JOBS WITH CAREER PATHS THAT PAY SUSTAINABLE WAGES. OUR SOUND SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAMS, CASE MANAGEMENT, AND JOB PLACEMENT SERVICES CAN PLACE PEOPLE ON THE PATH TO FINANCIAL STABILITY AND CONTRIBUTE TO ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. JOTF ACHIEVES ITS MISSION OF PROVIDING ACCESS TO GOOD JOBS FOR LOW WAGE, LOW SKILL WORKERS AND JOBSEEKERS UTILIZING THREE STRATEGIES: PUBLIC POLICY ADVOCACY, JOB SKILLS TRAINING, AND PUBLIC EDUCATION, AND RESEARCH.
IN MAY 2020, JOTF ESTABLISHED A COMMUNITY BAIL FUND IN BALTIMORE CITY. THE FUND PROVIDES BAIL PAYMENTS FOR ELIGIBLE RESIDENTS REPRESENTED BY THE MARYLAND OFFICE OF THE PUBLIC DEFENDER. JOTF IS REIMBURSED IF THE BAIL RECIPIENT ATTENDS THE SCHEDULED COURT HEARINGS AND THE MONEY IS REAPPLIED TO A FUTURE OPERATIONS (I.E., BAIL REQUESTS). BAIL POSTED BY JOFT CAN BE FORFEITED SHOULD AN INDIVIDUAL NOT APPEAR AS ORDERED BY A COURT. MANAGEMENT PROVIDES FOR AN ALLOWANCE BASED ON THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF FORFEITED FUNDS.
