THE MISSION OF VENETIAN HERITAGE IS TO ENCOURAGE AND SUPPORT ARTISTIC AND INTELLECTUAL INITIATIVES AND CULTURAL EXCHANGE BETWEEN THE U.S. AND ITALY; TO SAFEGUARD VENETIAN CULTURAL HERITAGE AS MANIFESTED IN ARCHITECTURE, MUSIC AND FINE ARTS IN VENICE AND ITS FORMER DOMINION; TO SPONSOR EXHIBITIONS, LECTURES AND CONFERENCES INTENDED TO STIMULATE INTEREST IN THE URGENT AND NEVER-ENDING NEEDS OF VENICE, AND TO FAMILIARIZE PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD WITH THE PROBLEMS OF THE CITY.

THE BELLINI ALTARPIECESGALLERIE DELL'ACCADEMIA, VENICETHE FAMOUS ALTARPIECE DEPICTING THE VIRGIN IN GLORY WITH SAINTS IS A 1510-1515 OIL ON PANEL PAINTING BY GIOVANNI BELLINI AND HIS STUDIO, AND SINCE 1980, HAS BEEN DEPOSITED AT THE GALLERIE DELL'ACCADEMIA MUSEUM DUE TO ITS PRECARIOUS STATE OF CONSERVATION. IT MEASURES 3.5M BY 2.25M. IT WAS ORIGINALLY PAINTED FOR THE CHURCH OF SANTA MARIA DEGLI ANGELI IN MURANO AND DURING THE FRENCH DOMINATION, IT WAS TRANSFERRED TO THE NEARBY CHURCH OF SAN PIETRO MARTIRE, ALWAYS IN MURANO ISLAND. THE ALTARPIECE HAS BEEN SHIPPED TO FLORENCE, WHERE IT IS NOW UNDER RESTORATION AT THE OPIFICIO DELLE PIETRE DURE IN FLORENCE, THE MOST PROMINENT PUBLIC INSTITUTE OF RESTORATION IN ITALY. THE PROJECT IS EXPECTED TO BE COMPLETED IN 2024.COSM TURA "MADONNA DELLO ZODIACO"GALLERIE DELL'ACCADEMIA MUSEUM, VENICECOSM TURA (C. 1430-1495) WAS AN ITALIAN PAINTER FROM THE EARLY RENAISSANCE PERIOD KNOWN FOR HIS DISTINCTIVE COMBINATION OF LATE GOTHIC AND EARLY RENAISSANCE ELEMENTS AND RECOGNIZED FOR HIS INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO COMPOSITION AND USE OF COLOR. THIS RESTORATION PROJECT INVOLVES ANON-SITE WORKSHOP, SCIENTIFIC ANALYSIS, WOOD DISINFESTATION, AND CAREFULLY RESTORING BOTH WOODEN ELEMENTS AND THE PAINTED SURFACE. THE GOAL IS TO PRESERVE THE ARTWORK'S HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE AND REVEAL ITS TRUE BEAUTY. RESTORATION WORK BEGAN IN SEPTEMBER 2022 AND WAS COMPLETED IN FEBRUARY 2023.LIGHTING SYSTEM FOR THE MONUMENTAL STAIRCASESCUOLA GRANDE SAN GIOVANNI EVANGELISTA, VENICEFOLLOWING THE SUCCESSFUL RESTORATION OF MAURO CODUSSI'S MONUMENTAL STAIRCASE, BUILT FOR THE SCUOLA GRANDE SAN GIOVANNI EVANGELISTA IN THE 15TH CENTURY, A NEW LIGHTING SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED TO ENHANCE THIS ARCHITECTURAL MASTERPIECE OF THE LATE FIFTEENTH CENTURY. WORK WAS COMPLETED IN 2023.
