SCHOOL COMMUNITY PROJECTS: IMPACT(ED) INTERNATIONAL (IMPACT(ED)) ESTABLISHES AND MANAGES LOCALLY LED PROJECTS IN MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES SO THAT YOUNG PEOPLE AND THEIR FAMILIES HAVE HOPE, AGENCY AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO THRIVE. MAJOR PROGRAM EXPENDITURES COVER THE COSTS OF TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNITY ACTION PLANNING, MENTORSHIP TRAINING, YOUTH CLUB DEVELOPMENT, MEDIA PRODUCTION, MATERIALS DEVELOPMENT, AND PROJECT MONITORING AND EVALUATION. THIS WORK IMPROVES TEACHING, LEARNING, AND LIFE CHANCES FOR PEOPLE IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES AND IS CREATED TO ENSURE LONGTERM SUSTAINABILITY.

SHAINA PROGRAM: IMPACT(ED), IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE LEADING CREATIVE AND BEHAVIOR CHANGE COMMUNICATION PARTNERS IN SUBSAHARAN AFRICA, CREATED A WIDEREACHING AND ENTERTAINING SCRIPTED FEATURE FILM THAT BREAKS DOWN MESSAGE FATIGUE AROUND COMPLEX HEALTH ISSUES THAT CHALLENGE ADOLESCENT GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN IN ZIMBABWE. ROOTED IN HUMAN CENTERED DESIGN AND SURROGATE BASED BEHAVIOR CHANGE, THIS MOVIE IS BECOMING AN IMPORTANT PART OF YOUTH CULTURE IN ZIMBABWE AND ACROSS SUBSAHARAN AFRICA. INSTILLING IN YOUNG WOMEN A GROWTH MINDSET ESSENTIAL FOR HEALTH, AGENCY AND SELFEFFICACY, THIS STORY ALSO CHALLENGES HARMFUL GENDER NORMS BY DRIVING A CULTURE OF POSITIVITY MASCULINITY. THE FILM WAS LAUNCHED IN ZIMBABWE, WITH SUBSEQUENT BROADCAST, FESTIVAL AND GRASSROOTS COMMUNITY DISTRIBUTION ACROSS SUB SAHARAN AFRICA.
EDUCATIONAL MEDIA: IMPACT(ED) PRODUCES ORIGINAL EDUCATIONAL VIDEO PROGRAMS TO ENHANCE LEARNING AND CREATE POSITIVE SOCIAL CHANGE. THE COLLABORATIVE PRODUCTION PROCESS INCORPORATES HUMAN CENTERED DESIGN AND SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS AND IS CUSTOMIZED INTO THE APPROPRIATE LANGUAGE OR LANGUAGES AND UTILIZES SAME LANGUAGE SUBTITLING WHERE APPROPRIATE.
