HOMEMAKER AND CAREGIVER SUPPORT SERVICES:THE HOMEMAKER PROGRAMS EMPLOY, TRAIN, AND SUPERVISE HOME CARE AIDES PROVIDING IN-HOME CARE TO NEEDY ADULTS. CERTIFIED HOME CARE AIDES PROVIDE PERSONAL CARE AND HOMEMAKING SERVICES INCLUDING BATHING, DRESSING, MEAL PREPARATION, MEDICATION REMINDERS, COMPANIONSHIP AND SUPERVISION AND MORE. CAREGIVER SUPPORT PROGRAMS PROVIDE EDUCATION, COUNSELING AND FINANCIAL REIMBURSEMENTS FOR CAREGIVING RELATED SUPPLIES AND RESPITE FOR UNPAID FAMILY CAREGIVERS WHO RESIDE IN DC AND ARE CARING FOR AN OLDER DC RESIDENT.


SAFE AT HOME PROGRAM:THE SAFE AT HOME PROGRAM PROMOTES INDEPENDENCE AND SAFETY FOR OLDER D.C. RESIDENTS AND ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES BY PROVIDING OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSESSMENTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS, AND FUNDING FOR MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND HOME MODIFICATIONS.
