1000 FRIENDS OF MARYLAND WORKS TO ACHIEVE VIBRANT COMMUNITIES AND HEALTHY RURAL ECONOMIES. THE ORGANIZATION'S FOCUS IS TO PROTECT MARYLAND FROM POORLY PLANNED DEVELOPMENT, IMPROVE PLANNING PROCESS AT STATE AND LOCAL LEVEL, REDUCE POLLUTED RUNOFF FROM DEVELOPMENT, AND TO KEEP OUR RURAL LANDS RURAL.
PARTNERS FOR OPEN SPACE IS A BROAD-BASED COALITION WORKING TO PROTECT THE FUNDING SOURCES FOR CRITICAL PROGRAMS THAT CREATE OUR PARKS, PROTECTS KEY HABITATS AND KEEP FARMS FROM BEING DEVELOPED.
