RESIDENTIAL HOUSING - HOUSING UNLIMITED INC. PROVIDES AFFORDABLE PERMANENT HOUSING FOR PEOPLE IN MENTAL HEALTH RECOVERY IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MARYLAND. THE ORGANIZATION PURCHASES HOMES, PRIMARILY TOWNHOMES AND CONDOS, AND SERVES AS THE LANDLORD FOR ADULTS IN RECOVERY. INDEPENDENT, SAFE, PERMANENT, AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING IS AVAILABLE TO EXTREMELY LOW-INCOME ADULTS. TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY-ONE (228) TENANTS ARE CURRENTLY LIVING IN HOUSING UNLIMITED'S 83 HOMES.STABLE HOUSING IS VITAL TO LONG TERM MENTAL HEALTH STABILITY AND RECOVERY. TENANTS AND STAFF WORK TOGETHER TO FOSTER HABITS AND LIFESTYLES THAT KEEP THEM HOUSED AND HEALTHY. TEAM MEMBERS VISIT TENANTS' HOMES EVERY WEEK TO ANSWER QUESTIONS, PROVIDE REQUESTED RESOURCES, AND TO CHECK THE PHYSICAL CONDITION OF PROPERTIES TO ENSURE THAT HOMES ARE WELL-MAINTAINED.THE HOUSING UNLIMITED TENANTS COUNCIL FOSTERS RECOVERY, PROMOTES COOPERATION, AND INDEPENDENCE, AND PROVIDES TENANTS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A COLLECTIVE VOICE. TENANTS COUNCIL OFFICERS RECEIVE LEADERSHIP AND SKILLS TRAINING.
