THE NATIONAL LAW CENTER ON HOMELESSNESS AND POVERTY IS THE ONLY NATIONAL ORGANIZATION DEDICATED SOLELY TO USING THE POWER OF THE LAW TO PREVENT AND END HOMELESSNESS IN AMERICA.

HUMAN RIGHTS PROGRAM - ENSURED THAT THE BASIC RIGHTS AND DIGNITY OF HOMELESS PEOPLE WERE PROTECTED AND THAT PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS WERE NOT CRIMINALLY PUNISHED FOR THEIR STATUS; INCREASED ENDORSEMENT OF HOUSING NOT HANDCUFFS CAMPAIGN.


CHILDREN AND YOUTH PROGRAM - ENSURED THAT OVER 344,000 HOMELESS CHILDREN AND YOUTH NATIONALLY GAINED IMPROVED ACCESS TO EDUCATION GUARANTEED BY FEDERAL LAW, AND TO OTHER RIGHTS AND RESOURCES THEY NEED AND DESERVE TO HAVE A CHANCE FOR A BETTER FUTURE.


EDUCATION AND OUTREACH PROGRAM - EDUCATED KEY STAKE HOLDERS AND THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE CAUSES AND IMPACT OF HOMELESSNESS, AND STRATEGIES TO PREVENT IT. REACHED OVER 1,000 PARTICIPANTS IN WEBINARS AND TRAININGS; SECURED OVER 290 MENTIONS IN THE NATIONAL, LOCAL, AND INTERNATIONAL MEDIA OUTLETS; ENGAGED 29 LAW FIRMS AND CORPORATE LEGAL DEPARTMENTS IN PRO BONO WORK WITH THE LAW CENTER ON BEHALF OF HOMELESS PEOPLE, LEVERAGED OVER 5.5 MILLION IN DONATED LEGAL SERVICES. OVER 1,000 ENDORSEMENTS OF THE HOUSING NOT HANDCUFFS CAMPAIGN.
