FOR OCEANITES, AN IMPORTANT MILESTONE HAS BEEN REACHED: THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ANTARCTIC SITE INVENTORY, OUR SEMINAL PENGUIN COUNTING PROJECT. MONITORING OF KEYSTONE SPECIES IS CRITICAL TO ASSESSING THE HEALTH OF ANY AND ALL ECOSYSTEMS, NOT LEAST THE ANTARCTIC ECOSYSTEM, AND OCEANITES HAS SUCCEEDED IN PROVIDING PENGUIN POPULATION DATA THAT EVERYONE RELIES UPON - FROM GOVERNMENTS, UNIVERSITIES AND THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY TO THE TOURISM AND KRILL-FISHING INDUSTRIES.
