EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL PROGRAMS: CONSIST OF THE "NEXT STEP" PROGRAM AS WELL AS OTHER SERVICES. THE NEXT STEP PROGRAM IS A SELF-SUFFICIENCY PROGRAM WHICH ALLOWS PARTICIPANTS TO SET LIFE IMPROVEMENT GOALS FOR THEMSELVES AND WITH THE HELP OF PROGRAM STAFF, DETERMINE A SERIES OF MANAGEABLE, SPECIFIC NEXT STEPS TOWARD THE FULFILLMENT OF THOSE GOALS. SOCIAL SERVICE SUPPORT IS PROVIDED IN AREAS SUCH AS HOUSING, EMPLOYMENT, SUBSTANCE ABUSE, BUDGETING, LIFE SKILLS, AND MORE. ADDITIONALLY, SAMARITAN MINISTRY OFFERS HIV/AIDS SERVICES INCLUDING A RETREAT, COUNSELING, AND SUPPORT GROUP.
HIV/AIDS BURIAL ASSISTANCE: SAMARITAN MINISTRY PROVIDES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (FUNDED BY THE DC DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH) FOR THE BURIAL OF DC RESIDENTS WITH A DIAGNOSIS OF HIV/AIDS.
