NALHFA IS THE LEADING LOCAL AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVOCATE, INFLUENCING THE SHAPE AND CONTENT OF CONGRESSIONAL LEGISLATION AND AGENCY REGULATIONS AFFECTING AFFORDABLE HOUSING FINANCE. AS A NON-PROFIT ASSOCIATION, NALHFA IS AN ADVOCATE BEFORE CONGRESS AND FEDERAL AGENCIES ON LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY ISSUES AFFECTING AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND PROVIDES TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO ITS MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC. MEMBERS ARE CITY AND COUNTY AGENCIES, NON-PROFITS, AND PRIVATE FIRMS, SUCH AS UNDERWRITERS, CONSULTANTS, FINANCIAL ADVISERS, BOND COUNSEL, AND RATING AGENCIES, WHICH HELP IN PRODUCING HOUSING FROM CONCEPT TO COMPLETION.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE - NALHFA'S ANNUAL CONFERENCE PROVIDES THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING FINANCE COMMUNITY, AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONALS THE CHANCE TO NETWORK WITH THEIR PEERS; RECEIVE FIRST-HAND INSIGHTS AND CASE STUDIES OF EFFECTIVE HOUSING AND DEVELOPMENT PRACTICES; AND OFFERS UNPARALLELED OPPORTUNITY TO INTERACT WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENTAL PRACTITIONERS AND PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM-LEVEL STAFF OF ALL LEVELS.


NALHFA FALL EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE - NALHFA OFFERED A THREE-DAY PREMIER EVENT FOR THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING COMMUNITY THAT FEATURES UPDATES ON THE CURRENT STATE OF PLAY IN WASHINGTON FOLLOWING THE 2022 MIDTERM ELECTIONS, ECONOMIC ANALYSES FROM INDUSTRY EXPERTS, TRAINING WORKSHOPS, AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES. NALHFA ALSO HOSTS A PRECONFERENCE BOOT CAMP FOR NEWER EMPLOYEES IN THE INDUSTRY THAT LAYS A FOUNDATION FOR THE DAYS TO COME.

COMMUNICATIONS, PUBLICATIONS AND NEWSLETTERS - NALHFA'S PUBLICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL RESOURCES PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL TOOLS FOR HOUSING PROFESSIONALS FINANCING AFFORDABLE HOUSING AT THE LOCAL LEVEL. THE LIBRARY MAINTAINED BY NALHFA INCLUDES THE ABCS OF HOUSING BONDS AND BONDS FOR BEGINNERS. IN ADDITION, NALHFA DISTRIBUTES INFORMATION THROUGH ITS BIWEEKLY ELECTRONIC MEMBER NEWSLETTER, LEGISLATIVE & REGULATORY ALERTS, AND PRESS RELEASES.
