ACQUISITION, MAINTENANCE AND PRESERVATION OF HISTORIC PROPERTIES, 5 SITES MAINTAINED AND OPEN TO PUBLIC - HISTORIC STEVENSVILLE POST OFFICE, HISTORIC STEVENSVILLE TRAIN STATION AND CABOOSE, AND KIRWAN HOUSE, CRAY HOUSE, HISTORIC STEVENSVILLE BANK (IN PARTNERSHIP) AND HISTORIC CHRIST CHURCH (IN PARTNERSHIP. PURCHASED HISTORIC PROPERTY IN HISTORIC DOWNTOWN STEVENSVILLE AS FUTURE SITE FOR KENT ISLAND HERITAGE CENTER AND MUSEUM. MADE SIGNIFICANT RENOVATIONS TO THE STEVENSVILLE TRAIN STATION.


SPONSORSHIP OF KENT ISLAND DAY THE THIRD WEEKEND IN MAY AND OTHER EVENTS PROMOTING THE RICH HERITAGE AND CULTURE OF KENT ISLAND. KENT ISLAND DAY INCLUDED A PARADE, VENDORS, EXHIBITORS, REENACTORS, AND ENTERTAINERS. ATTENDANCE OVER 2,000. HOSTED OTHER VISITS TO SITES, INCLUDING CONCERT ON THE CRAY HOUSE GREEN, VISITS BY THE KI RUNNERS CLUB, DOD JOINT COMMUNICATIONS SCHOOL FROM FT MEADE, BAYSIDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND ST ANDEREW'S SCHOOL. HOSTED A MULTI-DAY VISIT TO KENT ISLAND BY THE CLAIBORNE SOCIETY OF VIRGINIA, DIRECT DESCENTANTS OF CAPT WILLIAM CLAIBORNE, FOUNDER OF KENT ISLAND IN 1631. HOSTED A GEOCACHING SITE EVENT AT THE KIRWAN HOUSE THAT DREW HUNDREDS OF VISITORS.


IDENTIFYING AND PRESERVING THE HERITAGE OF KENT ISLAND- OUTREACH EVENTS IN THE COMMUNITY INCLUDED: A PRESENTATION TO THE KENT ISLAND GIVING CLUB, 2 PRESENTATIONS TO THE BAY BRIDGE COVE COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION, A PANEL PRESENTATION SPONSORED BY THE TALBOT COUNTY LIBRARY ON THE HISTORIC CHANGE THAT THE BAY BRIDGE BROUGHT TO THE EASTERN SHORE, A HISTORIC DISPLAY OF THE KI RAILROAD AT THE QA COUNTY HOLIDAY TRAIN SHOW, A HISTORIC KI DISPLAY AT THE KENT ISLAND KID'S CONNECTION FAMILY EVENT, PRESENTATION OF SCHOLARSHIP TO KIHS SENIOR, PARTICIPATION IN ANNUAL JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION AT KENNARD AAH CENTER.PARTICIPATION ON THE BOARD OF HISTORIC STEVENSVILLE ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT AND ON THE QA COUNTY HISTORIC SITES CONSORTIUM.
