CRIME COVERAGE SUMMIT: IN PARTNERSHIP WITH RTDNA CONVENED 79 TV NEWS DIRECTORS AND EXECUTIVES FOR A CRIME COVERAGE SUMMIT IN SAN DIEGO. TRAINING FEATURED EXPERT SPEAKERS WHO TACKLED RACIAL BIAS, BUSINESS PRESSURES, SOLUTIONS-ORIENTED APPROACHES TO COVERAGE, JOURNALISM ETHICS AND STAFF SUPPORT, AS WELL AS GROWING POLICE DEPARTMENT RESTRICTIONS ON NEWSGATHERING.

FUTURE OF THE AMERICAN CHILD FELLOWSHIPS: HELD TWO TRAININGS TO PROVIDE JOURNALISTS WITH THE CONTEXTUAL DEPTH AND SOURCES NEEDED TO AMPLIFY KEY CHALLENGES FOR AMERICAN CHILDREN. THE FIRST TRAINING TOOK PLACE IN MCALLEN, TEXAS DUE TO ITS LOCATION ON THE U.S.-MEXICO BORDER WHERE JOURNALISTS HEARD FROM EXPERTS ON IMMIGRANT POLICY AND TOURED THE CATHOLIC CHARITIES RIO GRANDE VALLEY HUMANITARIAN RESPITE CENTER. THE SECOND TRAINING WAS HELD IN CLEVELAND, OHIO, AND FOCUSED ON CHILDRENS HEALTH, FEATURING EXPERTS FROM THE CLEVELAND CLINIC AND INCLUDING A TOUR OF THE AHUJA CENTER FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN.
INTERNATIONAL TRADE COVERAGE FELLOWSHIP: GATHERED 24 JOURNALISTS FROM 14 NATIONS ACROSS ASIA FOR A TRAINING ON REPORTING ON INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN SINGAPORE. SESSIONS FEATURED EXPERTS ON BUSINESS, ECONOMICS, GEOPOLITICS, AND TECHNOLOGY, AND INCLUDED A FIELD TRIP TO THE PORT OF SINGAPORE.
