ANNUAL MEETING - THE 61ST ANNUAL MEETING WAS HELD VIRTUALLY IN JUNE 2021 AND WAS ATTENDED BY APPROXIMATELY 300 INDIVIDUALS. THE MEETING INTENDS TO PROMOTE RESEARCH, EXCHANGE OF IDEAS AND EDUCATION ISSUES, CONCERNS AND NEW ADVANCES IN THE FIELD OF BIRTH DEFECTS RESEARCH.
MEMBERSHIP SERVICES AND PUBLICATIONS - THE SOCIETY PUBLISHES TWENTY-TWO ISSUES OF THE JOURNAL "BIRTH DEFECTS RESEARCH" WHICH IS A COMPREHENSIVE RESOURCE OF ORIGINAL RESEARCH AND REVIEWS IN FIELDS RELATED TO EMBRYO-FETAL DEVELOPMENT AND REPRODUCTION. ALSO, IN 2021, THE SOCIETY WAS INVOLVED IN TWO SHORT COURSES: 1) THE SOCIETY CO-HOSTED THE 2-DAY VIRTUAL HUMAN TERATOGENS COURSE FOR PHYSICIANS, GENETIC COUNSELORS, MEDICAL STUDENTS, AND ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONALS. THE SOCIETY HANDLED ADMINISTRATION OF THE COURSE INCLUDING REGISTRATION AND VIRTUAL HOSTING, AND SHARED A PORTION OF THE REVENUE WITH CO-HOST OTIS. 2) THE SOCIETY CO-HOSTED THE PRACTICAL REPRODUCTIVE AND DEVELOPMENTAL TOXICOLOGY COURSE WITH PARTNER AMERICAN COLLEGE OF TOXICOLOGY. FOR THIS COURSE, ACT HANDLED ADMINISTRATION WITH BDRP MEMBERS SERVING AS THE COURSE SPEAKERS. BDRP RECEIVED A PORTION OF THE NET REVENUE.
