FIRE STATIONS - BFD OWNS, MAINTAINS, AND PROVIDES THREE FIRE STATIONS IN BETHESDA TO MONTGOMERY COUNTY FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE. FROM GRANTS RECEIVED UNDER THE STATE OF MARYLAND SENATOR WILLIAM H. AMOSS FIRE, RESCUE & AMBULANCE FUNDS, BFD MAINTAINED THESE FIRE FIGHTERS AND MADE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS AND RENOVATIONS TO THESE FACILITIES ON AN ONGOING BASIS. THESE EXPENDITURES, AS REQUIRED, WERE APPROVED IN ADVANCE BY MONTGOMERY COUNTY AND ARE MADE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AMOSS FUND STATUTE.
FIRE EQUIPMENT - BFD AUGMENTED THE RESOURCES FOR PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS BY PURCHASING AND MAINTAINING FIRE EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING FIRE ENGINES, HOSE WAGONS, FIRE ALARMS, EMERGENCY MEDICAL VEHICLES AND OTHER APPARATUS CRUCIAL TO FIRE AND RESCUE OPERATIONS.
