TO LESSEN THE BURDEN ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT BY PROVIDING FOR INTER-MUNICIPAL COLLABORATION AND THE POOLING OF MUNICIPAL RESOURCES AND FUNDS FOR THE PROVISION OF FIRE, RESCUE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES WITHIN ALL OR A PORTION OF CERTAIN MUNICIPALITIES LOCATED IN THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF CHESTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA.

THE ORGANIZATION IS AN INTER-MUNICIPAL FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES REGIONAL COMMISSION SERVICING SIX MUNICIPALITIES AND THREE FIRE COMPANIES THAT OVERSEES THE FUNDING FOR OPERATING AND CAPITAL EXPENSES FOR THE FIRE COMPANIES AND THE EMS SERVICES.THE PURPOSES OF THE ORGANIZATION IS (A) TO LESSEN THE BURDEN ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT BY PROVIDING FOR INTER-MUNICIPAL COLLABORATION AND THE POOLING OF MUNICIPAL RESOURCES AND FUNDS FOR THE PROVISION OF FIRE, RESCUE, AND EMERGENCY SERVICES WITHIN ALL OR A PORTION OF CERTAIN MUNICIPALITIES LOCATED IN THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF CHESTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA (AS ENLARGED OR REDUCED FROM TIME TO TIME, "THE REGION"); AND (B) TO DO ALL THINGS WHICH MAY BE NECESSARY, APPROPRIATE, OR CONVENIENT TO THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE FOREGOING PURPOSES AND WHICH MAY LAWFULLY BE DONE BY A NONPROFIT CORPORATION UNDER AND PURSUANT TO THE LAWS OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA AND WHICH ARE NOT OTHERWISE PROHIBITED BY THE INTER-MUNICIPAL AGREEMENT, THE ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION, OR THE BYLAWS.
