THE MILFORD HISTORICAL SOCIETY WAS FOUNDED IN 1961 TO ACCEPT THE GIFT OF THE PARSON THORNE MANSION FROM MR. JAMES RICHARD DRAPER. THE MISSION OF THE SOCIETY IS TO RESTORE AND MAINTAIN THE MANSION AS A MUSUEM OPENED TO THE PUBLIC, TO ENCOURAGE THE PRESERVATION OF HISTORIC BUILDINGS IN MILFORD AND TO COLLECT AND PUBLISH THE HISTORY OF MILFORD.
