THE ORGANIZATION OPERATES A MUSEUM, BOOKSTORE, RESEARCH LIBRARY AND ARCHIVES AND PROVIDES SERVICES TO APPROX. 1,500 MEMBERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. OTHER ACTIVITIES INCLUDE REGULAR RARE BOOK AUCTIONS, FOLK ARTS CLASSES, USED BOOK SALES, AND LEARNING TOURS TO REGIONAL DESTINATIONS.
AT ITS MENNONITE LIFE VISITORS CENTER, THE ORGANIZATION INTRODUCES PERSONS VISITING LANCASTER COUNTY TO MENNONITE AND AMISH HISTORY AND CULTURE. IT ALSO FEATURES A BIBLICAL TABERNACLE REPRODUCTION, A FULL-SCALE MODEL OF THE HEBREW TABERNACLE IN THE WILDERNESS.
AT ITS 1719 MUSEUM, GUESTS ENCOUNTER THE OLDEST EXTANT BUILDING IN LANCASTER COUNTY WHICH WAS BUILT AS A FAMILY HOME AND A MENNONITE PLACE OF WORSHIP. THE MUSEUM ALSO INCLUDES A RECONSTRUCTED NATIVE AMERICAN LONGHOUSE GUESTS CAN TOUR. IN ADDITION TO OFFERING GUIDED TOURS, THE MUSEUM SERVES SCHOOL GROUPS AND OFFERS CLASSES AND SPECIAL EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
