OF AMARILLO SHALL BE A NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER WHERE ALL PERSON'S POSITIVE SELF WORTH CAN BE REALIZED, SEEKING ALWAYS TO MAXIMIZE BOTH INDIVIDUAL POTENTIAL AND COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT. WESLEY COMMUNITY CENTER SHALL RESPOND TO THE EXPRESSED NEEDS THROUGH A PROGRAM OF EDUCATIONAL, AND SPIRITUAL ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH AND ADULTS OF ALL RACES AND FAITHS.

DAY CARE PROGRAM CARE FOR CHILDREN OF WORKING PARENTS, PRIMARILY LOW INCOME FAMILIES SERVING APPROXIMATELY 64 CHILDREN PER DAY. FOR THE CURRENT YEAR APPROXIMATELY 106 TOTAL CHILDREN SERVED. OF THE TOTAL CHILDREN SERVED AN AVERAGE OF 28 CHILDREN WERE ON THE CHILDCARE SUBSIDY PROGRAM (CCMS) WITH 36 CLASSIFIED AS EXTREMELY LOW INCOME, 9 LOW INCOME, 20 MODERATE AND 41 ABOVE MODERATE.


VARIOUS OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDING MODELING PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS TO PROMOTE SELF-ESTEEM, TRANSPORTATION OF CHILDREN AFTER SCHOOL, ENGLISH AS SECOND LANGUAGE PROGRAM, SOCIAL SERVICES, WRESTLING ACTIVITIES FOR YOUTH, COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS, ETC. APPROXIMATELY 435 TO 500 PERSONS SERVED DURING THE YEAR IN THESE VARIOUS PROGRAMS.


MODELING PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN OF WORKING PARENTS, PRIMARILY LOW INCOME FAMILIES, SERVING AN AVERAGE OF 20 CHILDREN PER DAY. FOR THE CURRENT YEAR APPROXIMATELY 103 TOTAL CHILDREN SERVED WITH 55 BEING CLASSIFIED AS EXTREMELY LOW INCOME, 15 AS LOW INCOME, 4 AS MODERATE AND 2 ABOVE MODERATE.


SENIOR CITIZENS PROGRAM SENIOR CARE INCLUDING MEALS, CRAFTS AND OTHER ACTIVITY PROGRAMS FOR SENIORS 55 YEARS AND OLDER SERVING 30 - 39 PARTICIPANTS ON AVERAGE PER DAY. FOR THE CURRENT YEAR APPROXIMATELY 84 SENIORS WERE SERVED WITH 73 CLASSIFIED AS EXTREMELY LOW INCOME, 6 LOW INCOME, 3 AS MODERATE AND 2 ABOVE MODERATE.
