ADVOCATE FOR THE RIGHTS AND INTERESTS OF ITS MEMBERS AND OUTSTANDING PUBLIC EDUCATION FOR ALL STUDENTS. THE MISSION OF DSEA IS TO PROTECT AND EXTEND THE HUMANE AND PROFESSIONAL RIGHTS OF ITS MEMBERS AND PROMOTE EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION FOR THE CHILDREN AND YOUTH OF DELAWARE.

LEADING THE PROFESSION - DSEA REPRESENTS APPROXIMATELY 12,064 EDUCATIONAL EMPLOYEES, 42 PUBLIC HEALTH NURSES, AND 1,195 RETIREES IN DELAWARE. THEY ASSIST LOCALS IN COLLABORATIVE BARGAINING AND PROBLEM SOLVING. IT IS ACTIVE IN THE NEGOTIATIONS OF CONTRACTS, HANDLING GRIEVANCES, AND PROVIDING LEGAL DEFENSE IF NECESSARY. INSTRUCTIONAL ADVOCACY AND EDUCATION REFORM EFFORTS ASSIST DSEA AND LOCAL AFFILIATES IN BEING MAJOR PLAYERS IN THE EDUCATIONAL REFORM EFFORTS ON BOTH A STATE AND LOCAL EFFORT. DSEA DEVELOPS RESEARCH DATA THAT WILL ASSIST DSEA AND ITS LOCAL ASSOCIATIONS IN ACHIEVING THEIR GOALS AND REPRESENTING THEIR MEMBERS.ORGANIZING - DSEA INCREASES ITS STRENGTH AS AN ASSOCIATION THROUGH INCREASING AND MAINTENANCE OF MEMBERSHIP IN THE ASSOCIATION.
