THE GOALS OF THE COALITION ARE TO COORDINATE AND COMMUNICATE A SHARED NATIONAL VISION ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF HIGH-QUALITY PALLIATIVE CARE IN MULITPLE SETTINGS INCLUDING HOSPICE, HOSPITALS, AND IN THE COMMUNITY. OUR VISION IS THAT ALL PATIENTS, FAMILIES, AND CAREGIVERS WHO NEED IT WILL HAVE EQUITABLE ACCESS TO QUALITY HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE.

QUALITY: ONE OF OUR MAIN PROGRAMS IS THE FOLLOWING: THE COALITION IS THE SUBRECIPIENT OF A FEDERAL GRANT TO LEAD STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT TO CREATE TWO NEW PALLIATIVE CARE PATIENT REPORTED QUALITY MEASURES. THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THIS PROJECT WILL LEAD TO ENDORSEMENT BY THE NATIONAL QUALITY FORUM AND INCLUSION IN FEDERAL QUALITY PROGRAMS WHICH WILL IMPROVE SERIOUS ILLNESS CARE IN THE UNITED STATES.
COMMUNICATIONS: THE COALITION WAS THE RECIPIENT OF A NATIONAL GRANT TO LEAD COALITION EFFORTS TO ENCOURAGE CONSISTENT MESSAGING PRINCIPLES RELATED TO HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE.
EDUCATION: PEDIATRIC PALLIATIVE CARE (PPC): THE COALITION WAS THE RECIPIENT OF A NATIONAL GRANT TO FACILITATE STRONGER COMMUNICATION, COOPERATION AND COLLABORATION AMONG PEDIATRIC PALLIATIVE CARE PROFESSIONALS AND STAKEHOLDERS BY CREATING A NATIONAL PEDIATRIC PALLIATIVE CARE TASK FORCE (PPCTF). THE TASK FORCE INCLUDES MEMBERS FROM ACROSS THE COALITION IN ADDITION TO KEY EXTERNAL ORGANIZATIONS AND ENABLES EXECUTION ON KEY FIELD PRIORITIES, STRENGTHENS THE VOICE OF PPC ON A RANGE OF NATIONAL PRIORITIES. THE GOAL OF THE NATIONAL PEDIATRIC PALLIATIVE CARE TASK FORCE IS TO INCREASE ACCESS AND QUALITY TO PEDIATRIC PALLIATIVE CARE.
