DROP IN SPACE FOR NEW AND OLD CLIENTS THAT WANT TO BECOME COMMUNITY LEADERS AND ACTIVISTS. WE CURRENTLY HAVE FOUR DIFFERENT GROUPS THAT MEET UP AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS. DURING THESE GROUPS' MEETINGS, WE GIVE KNOWLEDGE ON HIV PREVENTION AND PREP/PEP EDUCATION, WE ALSO CONDUCT COMMUNITY OUTREACH. IN CONDUCTING COMMUNITY OUTREACH, WE DISTRBUTE CONDOMS, LUBRICANTS, FEMALE CONDOMS, PREP/PEP BROCHURES IN ORDER TO REACH THE GOAL OF ENDING THE HIV/AIDS EPIDEMIC IN NYC.
PROVIDE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS FOR THE TRANSGENDER AND GENDER NON-CONFORMING COMMUNITY. PROGRAM IS TO HELP REINFORCE THE CONFIDENCE AND COURAGE INSIDE INDIVIDUALS TO GET BACK INTO THE WORKFORCE.
ADVOCACY - TRANSLATINA HAS BOTH A LOCAL AND NATIONAL FOCUS WITH A MISSION TO PROMOTE THE HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT OF TRANS PEOPLE THROUGH THE DELIVERY OF A WIDE RANGE OF INFORMATION. THROUGH PROMOTION, OUTREACH IN EDUCATION, AND CAPACITY BUILDING, WE ENCOURAGE AND STRENGTHEN THE CREATION OF SAFE AND PRODUCTIVE ENVIRONMENTS FOR TRANSGENDER WOMEN.
