COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER PROGRAM - A RESEARCH STUDY TO BUILD ON OUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE ROLE COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS PLAY IN THE EVIDENCE-BASED MANAGEMENT OF SICKLE CELL DISEASE.
WARRIOR ON THE RISE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM IS TO SUPPORT SICKLE CELL DISEASE PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN THE UNITED STATES. THE PROGRAM GIVES WARRIORS AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION AND PURSUE THEIR COLLEGE DREAMS.
THE ANNUAL HOLIDAY BREAKFAST IS A YEARLY INITIATIVE TO RAISE AWARENESS OF SICKLE CELL DISEASE AND TO SUPPORT FAMILIES AFFECTED BY THE ILLNESS WITH BREAKFAST, GIFTS, SANTA AND ALL THINGS TO MAKE THE HOLIDAY JOYOUS AND ALSO WITH SPEAKERS TO DISCUSS NEW TREATMENTS AND CURATIVE OPTIONS.
WARRIOR STRONG CARE PACKAGE INITIATIVE - PROVIDES FAMILIES WITH SMALL FUNDS TO SUPPORT DIFFERENT FAMILY NEEDS IN THE FORM OF GIFT CARDS TO SUPPORT UTILITIES, RENT, FUNERAL COSTS, ETC. PARTICULARLY BECAUSE MANY FAMILIES HAVE ZERO TO ONE WAGE EARNER BECAUSE OF THE FREQUENCY OF THEIR SICKLER BEING HOSPITALIZED.
