2021 WAS A POWERFUL YEAR FOR PFP! PRIOR TO THE PANDEMIC WE WERE SERVING OVER 300 PEOPLE WITH PARKINSON'S THROUGH 13 FREE IN PERSON CLASSES AT 9 LOCATIONS IN THE AUSTIN AREA. AFTER OVER A YEAR OF PRIMARILY VIRTUAL PROGRAMMING WE WERE ABLE TO RETURN TO MOST OF OUR IN-PERSON CLASSES DURING MAY-AUGUST 2021 AND OCTOBER-DECEMBER 2021. WITH GREAT DEDICATION TO ENSURING A SAFE RETURN OF PFP CLASSES WE HOSTED CLASSES AT 7 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS, HELD 262 CLASSES, AND SERVED 145 PARTICIPANTS WITH APPROXIMATELY 970 TOTAL CLASS VISITS. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR OUR VIRTUAL WELLNESS PROGRAMMING VIA YOUTUBE LIVESTREAMS CONTINUED TO BE A GREAT SUCCESS WITH OUR AUDIENCE INCREASING BY 2600 SUBSCRIBERS TAKING US WELL OVER 13.6K WITH POWER FOR PARKINSON'S RANKING AS THE TOP YOUTUBE CHANNEL FOR PARKINSON'S EXERCISE. OUR SYMPTOM FOCUSED MODEL HAS PROVEN TO BE A KEY ELEMENT FOR PEOPLE WITH PARKINSON'S TO MANAGE THEIR DISEASE.IN ADDITION, SOCIAL INITIATIVES HAVE BEEN AN ESSENTIAL ELEMENT IN OUR PROGRAMMING TO COUNTERACT THE DEPRESSION AND ISOLATION THAT SO OFTEN ACCOMPANIES THE DISEASE. BY LIVESTREAMING ON YOUTUBE, PEOPLE WERE ABLE TO CHAT IN REAL TIME AND REMARKABLY INTERACTED AS A COMMUNITY WORLDWIDE. ADDITIONALLY, DESPITE COVID, WE HOSTED SEVERAL SUCCESSFUL VIRTUAL EVENTS. CHERISHED BY OUR COMMUNITY, WE STILL HELD OUR FREE 8TH ANNUAL BIRTHDAY BASH WITH NEARLY 100 GLOBAL PARTICIPANTS JOINING THE CELEBRATION BY ZOOM. PEOPLE PARTICIPATED IN A GROUP DANCE, PARTY PODS AND SOCIALIZED WITH FRIENDS AROUND THE WORLD. IN THE SUMMER WE MOTIVATED AND ENGAGED OUR COMMUNITY DURING A THEMED RIDE THE WAVES VIRTUALWEEK WHERE WE HOSTED DAILY BEACH THEMED CLASSES ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL.
