DURING THE YEAR OF 2021, THE ELHI COMMUNITY CENTER WAS ABLE TO REACH OUT TO THE COMMUNITY OF IGNACIO BY OFFERING LOW-COST RENTAL SPACE TO FIVE NONPROFITS AND FOUR SMALL OR NEW BUSINESSES AS WELL OFFERING A FREE SPACE FOR COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENTS SUCH AS FOOD DISTRIBUTION FROM MULTIPLE AGENCIES, PUBLIC HEALTH INFORMATION/TRAINING AND VACCINE PROGRAMS. IN COLLABORATION WITH OUR AMAZING TENANTS, WE ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE A PLACE FOR PROGRAMS THAT OFFER AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES FOR ELEMENTARY THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS INCLUDING ART, RUN CLUB, GYMNASTICS, PEER LEADERSHIP CLUBS, SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL BASED LEARNING AND SKILL BUILDING ACTIVITIES AND MORE. WE ARE ALSO ABLE TO OFFER LOW-COST SPACE FOR A COMMUNITY CLOTHING CLOSET THAT PROVIDES FREE CLOTHING, AND 13 CLASSROOMS AND A GYM TO A LOCAL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL. EACH OF THESE SERVICES ARE GREATLY NEEDED IN AND AROUND IGNACIO AND WE ARE GRATEFUL TO BE A PART OF MEETING THAT NEED.
