STEM PATHS INNOVATION NETWORK (SPIN) PROVIDES LOW- OR NO-COST STEM PROGRAMMING AND MENTORS TO SCHOLARS OF COLOR AND GIRLS IN SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS AND ART FIELDS IN THE GREATER SEATTLE REGION.

Part 3 - Line 4a

SPIN PARTNERED WITH OTHER NON-PROFITS AND THE CITY OF SEATTLE TO PROVIDE STEM ENRICHMENT CLASSES TO STUDENTS AT LOCAL ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOLS. SPIN PROVIDED SERVICES TO APPROXIMATELY 400 STUDENTS OF COLOR AND UNDERSERVED STUDENTS.


WITH PUBLIC FUNDING THROUGH KING COUNTY, SPIN PROVIDED THE SPIN GIRLS PROGRAM CONTINUES TO BUILD LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND PROVIDE IMMERSIVE STEM EXPERIENCES SPECIFICALLY FOR GIRLS OF COLOR. CLASSES WERE PROVIDED TO 56 8TH, 9TH AND 10TH GRADE GIRLS AND ALSO PAIRED THEM WITH PROFESSIONALS OF COLOR AS MENTORS. WITH PUBLIC FUNDING THROUGH CITY OF SEATTLE SPIN PROVIDED THE SPIN GIRLS CLUB PROGRAM TO INSPIRE STEM SCHOLARSHIP FOR GIRLS OF COLOR IN SEATTLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS. CLASSES WERE PROVIDED SERVED 84 STUDENTS FROM 6TH AND 7TH GRADES. WITH FUNDING FROM THE COLLEGE SUCCESS FOUNDATION, SPIN PROVIDED SPIN FELLOWS TO SUPPORT GIRLS TO SUCCEED IN PURSUING COLLEGE AND CAREER CREDENTIALS IN STEM. SUPPORT WAS PROVIDED TO 20 YOUNG WOMEN IN 11TH AND 12TH GRADES ACROSS KING COUNTY. WITH PUBLIC FUNDING FROM THE CITY OF SEATTLE, SPIN PROVIDED THE YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR PROJECT TO 18 STUDENTS IN 11TH AND 12TH GRADE AT CLEVELAND HIGH SCHOOL TO INCUBATE ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND SUPPORT STEM SKILL DEVELOPMENT.
