Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

TO KEEP THE WILD HORSES OF THE VIRGINIA RANGE FREE BY EDUCATING THE COMMUNITY ABOUT LIVING WITH OUR MUSTANGS AND RESCUING THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THE RANGE. WE WORK WITH THE NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE CITY COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT DEVELOPERS AND LAND OWNERS TO ACHIEVE THIS. WHC INSTALLS FENCING GATES AND CATTLE GUARDS AND PROVIDES WATER RESOURCES IN THE HIGHER RANGE SO THE HORSES STAY HIGH UP AND NOT DOWN ON OUR COMMUNITY STREETS. WE TRAIN OUR RESCUES SO THEY CAN BE USED FOR THERAPY AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT. WE PROVIDE EMERGENCY RESOURCES TO THOSE IN NEED. WE CONNECT OUR COMMUNITY IN ORDER TO PROTECT THE WILD MUSTANGS BY EDUCATION AND AWARENESS.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

DIVERSIONARY FEEDING PROGRAM - IN THE LATE SUMMER FOOD SOURCES FOR THE WILD HORSES ARE DEPLETED 4 YR DROUGHT. THE WILD HORSES COME DOWN FROM THE RANGE AND INTO INCREASINGLY POPULATED NEIGHBORHOODS. THE DIVERSIONARY FEEDING PROGRAM HELPS TO KEEP THE WILD HORSES OFF THE STREETS AND ON THE RANGE.

VETERINARY FEES AND SUPPLIES - THE WILD HORSES ON THE VIRGINIA RANGE LIVE IN VERY RUGGED TERRAIN WITH NATURAL DANGERS. THEIR TERRITORY IS ALSO INCREASINGLY OCCUPIED BY PEOPLE BRINGING ADDITIONAL HAZARDS FROM MOTOR VEHICLES AND RESIDENTIAL FENCING. VETERINARY SERVICES ARE NEEDED ON A WEEKLY BASIS ALONG WITH SUPPLIES TO PROVIDE REHABILITATION.

WILD HORSE RESCUES - WILD HORSES LIVE ADJACENT TO AND SOMETIMES IN AREAS PRESENTING MANY POTENTIAL NEEDS FOR INTERVENTION. WILD HORSES WHO ARE INJURED OR ARE OUTSIDE OF DESIGNATED FENCED BOUNDARIES REQUIRE A TRAINED RESCUE SERVICES TEAM WITH PROPER TRUCKS TRAILERS AND EQUIPMENT. A RESCUED WILD HORSE NEEDS TO BE TRANSPORTED TO AN EQUINE FACILITY FOR TREATMENT OR REHABILITATION OR RELOCATED TO A SAFE LOCATION ON THE VIRGINIA RANGE
