AIM IS BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN RESEARCH AND ACCESS TO CARE FOR YOUTH STRUGGLING WITH THEIR MENTAL HEALTH BY FINDING, FUNDING, AND IMPLEMENTING EVIDENCE-BASED TREATMENTS, EMPOWERING YOUTH TO DISCOVER THEIR OWN MENTAL HEALTH SOLUTIONS, AND TRAINING CARING ADULTS TO CREATE A SAFE HOLDING PLACE FOR YOUTH IN CRISIS.

AIM FUNDED RESEARCH TO INVESTIGATE HOW TO PREDICT SELF-HARM URGES AND SUICIDALITY, HOW MINDFULNESS CAN REDUCE ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION IN ADOLESCENTS, AND THE UTILIZATION OF YOUTH BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTERS IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES. THE AIM IDEAS LAB TRAINED HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO SCIENTIFICALLY CONDUCTED PEER-TO-PEER YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH SURVEYS, FACILITATE PEER CONVERSATIONS, AND PRESENT YOUTH-DRIVEN RECOMMENDATIONS TO EDUCATORS, PARENTS, RESEARCHERS, AND POLICY MAKERS. AIM TRAINED 125 TEACHERS, NURSES, COUNSELORS, AND PARENTS IN YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID, BUILDING SKILLS TO RECOGNIZE AND RESPOND TO YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES AND CRISES. THE AIM DESIGN CHALLENGE GAVE YOUTH FROM AROUND THE WORLD THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPRESS THE REALITIES OF YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH STRUGGLES AND TRIUMPHS THROUGH EXPRESSIONS OF ART AND GRAPHIC DESIGN.
