FOODRIGHT AIMS TO EMPOWER YOUTH TO CHOOSE FOODS THAT SUSTAIN LIFE-LONG HEALTH. THROUGH HANDS-ON, STANDARDS-ALIGNED CURRICULA, K5-12TH GRADE YOUTH LEARN TO COOK AND APPRECIATE HEALTHY, WHOLE PLANT FOODS MADE USING CUISINES FROM AROUND THE WORLD. CLASSROOM LEARNING IS EXTENDED TO THE HOME THROUGH MEAL KITS AND VIRTUAL LESSONS THAT TEACH THE WHOLE FAMILY TO COOK. BY ADVOCATING FOR AND INITIATING CHANGES TO POLICIES, SYSTEMS AND ENVIRONMENTS, WE WORK TO CREATE SCHOOLS AND NEIGHBORHOODS WHERE THE HEALTHY CHOICE IS THE EASY CHOICE. MORE THAN 79% OF THE YOUTH WE SERVE ARE ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED DUE TO SYSTEMIC RACIAL INEQUITIES IN EDUCATION, HEALTH AND FOOD ACCESS. FOODRIGHT WORKS TO ELIMINATE THESE INEQUITIES THROUGH HEALTHY FOOD EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY SO THAT ALL PEOPLE CAN ACCESS AND PREPARE WHOLESOME, SUSTAINABLY-RAISED FOODS THAT PROMOTE LIFE-LONG HEALTH.

TAUGHT 1,305 MILWAUKEE YOUTH (79% DESIGNATED ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED) TO COOK AND ENJOY 710 HEALTHY, AFFORDABLE, PLANT-BASED MEALS IN 575 HANDS-ON LESSONS IN 55 CLASSROOMS. PROVIDED VIRTUAL CULINARY LESSONS AND 1,950 TAKE-HOME MEAL KITS SO THAT STUDENTS AND MORE THAN 4,000 FAMILY MEMBERS COULD LEARN TO COOK AND EAT HEALTHY PLANT-BASED MEALS TOGETHER AT HOME. PARTNERED WITH STAKEHOLDERS TO CREATE HEALTHY SCHOOL ENVIRONMENTS.
