ROBYNE'S NEST' PROVIDES AT RISK AND HOMELESS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ARE ALCOHOL AND DRUG FREE WITH LITTLE TO NO PARENT SUPPORT IN THE HUNTINGTON BEACH AREA WITH THE RESOURCES AND SUPPORT TO COMPLETE HIGH SCHOOL AND PURSUE A PATH TO SELF-SUFFICIENCY.

LIFE RESOURCES PROGRAMS - TRANSITIONAL HOUSING: FOR THOSE STUDENTS WHO DO NOT HAVE SAFE APPROPRIATE OR RELIABLE HOUSING AND WHO STILL NEED SOME ADULT GUIDANCE ROBYNE'S NEST WILL PLACE THE STUDENT IN A HOME THAT MEETS THEIR NEEDS. THERE WILL BE AT LEAST ONE ADULT WHO HAS BEEN VETTED WHO LIVES IN THE HOUSE TO PROVIDE SUPPORT AND GUIDANCE TO THE STUDENT. THE TRANSITIONAL HOUSING IS MEANT TO SUPPORT A STUDENT UP TO 24 MONTHS DEPENDING ON THEIR AGE AND SITUATION. PERMANENT HOUSING: ROBYNE'S NEST PROVIDES THE NEXT STEP OF SECURE STABLE AND PERMANENT HOUSING SO STUDENTS CAN CONTINUE TO WORK ON THEIR INDEPENDENT LIFE SKILLS WHILE WORKING GOING TO SCHOOL AND SAVING FOR ACQUIRING THEIR OWN HOUSING AT THE END OF THE PROGRAM. MENTAL HEALTH: OUR CONTRACTED QUALITY PSYCHOLOGISTS AND LICENSED CASE SOCIAL WORKERS CONDUCT WEEKLY INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP THERAPY SESSIONS TO HELP STUDENTS HEAL FROM TRAUMAS AND ABUSE DEVELOP COPING SKILLS AND BETTER SELF-AWARENESS. THROUGH OUR PROGRAMS WE ADDRESS STRESS ANXIETY DEPRESSION GRIEF AND OTHER MENTAL HEALTH FACTORS.
BASIC NEEDS PROGRAMS - FOOD PANTRIES: ALL HIGH SCHOOLS ASSOCIATED WITH OUR PROGRAM HAVE FULLY STOCKED FOOD PANTRIES WITH GRAB-N-GO FOODS BOTTLED WATER APPLES TOILETRIES AND SOME CLOTHING. OUR OFFICE PANTRY IS FOR ROBYNE'S NEST STUDENTS ONLY TO COME SHOP FOR NON-PERISHABLES AS WELL AS FROZEN MEATS THAT ARE PROVIDED TO US BY DONORS. TOILETRIES HOUSEHOLD PRODUCTS AND MORE HELP STUDENTS STAY FOCUSED ON SCHOOL AND USE THE MONEY THEY MAKE FOR OTHER BILLS AND SAVINGS. OTHER ASSISTANCE: WE ASSIST WITH THINGS SUCH AS FIXING BROKEN GLASSES LICE TREATMENT CLOTHES NEW AND USED AND HOUSEHOLD NEEDS SUCH AS FURNITURE BLANKETS AND FANS HEATERS. A MONTHLY STUDENT STIPEND PROVIDES RELIEF IN MANAGING DAILY NEEDS. HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS MAY BE WORKING TO PROVIDE FOR THEMSELVES OR HELP WITH FAMILY PROVISIONS. WHEN WORK BECOMES THEIR PRIORITY THEIR SCHOOLING AND GRADES SUFFER. TO BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE STUDENT LIVING EXPENSE SUPPORT STUDENTS MUST HAVE PASSING GRADES IN ALL CLASSES MEET SCHOOL ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS AND REDUCE THEIR NUMBER OF WORKING HOURS.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS - WE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE SUCH AS TUTORING SCHOOL SUPPLIES LAPTOPS AND GRADE INCENTIVES TO ENABLE STUDENTS TO HAVE THE TOOLS TO SUCEED IN SCHOOL. GUIDANCE REGARDING FAFSA SCHOLARSHIPS AND FURTHER EDUCATION IS ALSO PROVIDED TO STUDENTS IN OUR PROGRAM. WE ALSO PROVIDE LIFE SKILLS EDUCATION CLASSES THAT ARE REQUIRED TO BE TAKEN BY ALL STUDENTS IN OUR PROGRAM. CLASSES INCLUDE PERSONAL WELLNESS EMPLOYMENT FINANCES COPING SKILLS DANGERS OF VAPING TOBACCO HOUSING TRANSPORTATION AND MANY MORE. THESE CLASSES HELP OUR STUDENTS TO LEARN TO LIVE WITHIN THEIR MEANS AS GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE PROGRAM EXCEPT MEDI-CAL INSURANCENO HOUSING VOUCHERS OR EBT ASSISTANCE. SPECIALISTS IN FINANCES AND CAREER GUIDANCE ARE PART OF THE STUDENT CARE TEAM TO HELP GUIDE OUR STUDENTS PARTICULARLY IN THESE AREAS TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS AND MAKE INFORMED DECISIONS.
