MOSAIC IS "IN THE COMMUNITY, AND IN THE WORLD, FOR GOOD," AND SERVES 1 IN 25 UTAHNS: ELDERS, SENIORS, UNEMPLOYED, REFUGEES/FIRST GENERATION, ECONOMIC IMMIGRANTS, YOUTH, AND EXTREMELY LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES THROUGH QUALITY, UNDUPLICATED, PROGRAMS AND SERVICES. ALL OF MOSAIC'S PROGRAMS HAVE A CORE INTERVENTION: TO PROVIDE IMMEDIATE BASICS FOR LONG-TERM SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH HEALTH, EDUCATION, AND ESPECIALLY, EMPLOYMENT. MOSAIC WAS/IS OPEN THROUGHOUT THE PANDEMIC, AND CONTINUES TO WORK WITH GOVERNMENT AND FOUNDATIONS IN PUBLIC OUTREACH AND EDUCATION FOR COVID-19. 138,091 ADULTS AND CHILDREN RECEIVED FOOD BASICS AND CONNECTION TO A VARIETY OF SERVICES DURING THE PANDEMIC. BASIC RESOURCES INCLUDE: 1.4 MILLION POUNDS OF FOOD; 150,000+ POUNDS IN HEALTH KIT ITEMS: SANITIZER, MASKS, GLOVES, AND HYGIENE ITEMS; 20,000+ FLYERS WITH MENTAL HEALTH, EMPLOYMENT, COVID-19 TESTING/VACCINATION/BOOSTERS AND IMMUNITY RESOURCES; LONG-COVID HEALING AVENUES; NUTRITION AND MENTAL HEALTH COURSES. BUDGETING BELOW INCLUDES CASH AMOUNTS ONLY AND NOT AMOUNTS OF GOODS DONATED OR LABOR RELATED TO THIS PROGRAM.
5,114 ADULTS RECEIVED EMPLOYMENT READINESS SERVICES AND/OR COLLEGE AND EMPLOYMENT PLACEMENT. EACH PERSON RECEIVED COACHING AND MENTORING WITH OFF-SITE AND/OR ON-SITE SERVICES IN: ESL - ENGLISH TO WORK COURSES, MOCK INTERVIEWS, APPRENTICESHIPS, RESUME CONSTRUCTION, APPRENTICESHIP, ON-THE-JOB TRAINING, FISCAL PLANNING, HOW TO ASK FOR A RAISE, THE NEXT STEP IN CAREER DEVELOPMENT, WORK CLOTHING AND PERMITS, AND A COLLEGE EDUCATION PLAN. DURING THE PROCESS OF WORKING TOWARD EMPLOYMENT, AN ADULT RECEIVES A GREAT CLIPS HAIR CUT, NEW FAMOUS FOOTWEAR SHOES, AND NAME BRAND INTERVIEW CLOTHING. 30% OF THOSE ENTERING THESE SERVICES ARE PLACED IN LIVE-ABLE WAGE, HEALTH- BENEFITED, EMPLOYMENT. THE IMPACT OF A CONSTANT SOURCE OF INCOME IN THE FAMILY CANNOT BE UNDERSTATED AS IT REACHES OVER 65,000 PEOPLE IN EXTENDED FAMILY UNITS IN ECONOMIC EDUCATION AND MONETARY BENEFIT. IN ADDITION, $60 MILLION IS GENERATED IN THE LOCAL AND AMERICAN ECONOMY; AND $20 MILLION IS SAVED FOR BETTER EXPENDITURE IN UNUSED GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE.
MOSAIC'S IN-HOME SENIOR ASSISTANCE PROGRAM PROVIDES A FREE INFORMATION PACKET TO AREA SENIORS AND THEIR CAREGIVERS. IN THIS FREE RESOURCE PACKET, MOSAIC PROVIDES A LISTING OF LOW-COST HOME HEALTH AIDES TO PROVIDE IN-HOME CARE IN ORDER THAT A SENIOR CAN STAY HOME SAFELY - AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. YARD CARE AND SNOW REMOVAL IS PART OF THE BENEFIT. 54 HOME HEALTH AIDES, CNAS, RNS ARE CURRENTLY WORKING IN MOSAIC'S HOME HEALTH AIDE LISTING. IN 2020, 1008 SENIOR PACKETS WERE DISTRIBUTED. ADDITIONALLY, 1259 - 55+ AND BLUE BOOK SENIOR RESOURCE BOOKS AND COVID-19 HEALTH KITS WERE PROVIDED SENIORS. FOOD AND HEALTH KITS WERE PROVIDED LIBERALLY TO SENIOR CLIENTS IN THE FOOD DISTRIBUTION SERVICES (COUNTED SEPARATELY). EMPLOYMENT READINESS & PLACEMENT SERVICES FOR DIVERSE SENIORS.
MOSAIC PROVIDES HEALTH OUTREACH THROUGH: HOSTING VACCINATION/BOOSTER CLINICS; PROVIDING DIVERSE HEALTH LITERACY MATERIALS AND HEALTH KITS; DIVERSE FOCUS GROUPS; SURVEY GATHERING IN DIVERSE COMMUNITIES; MULTI-LINGUAL OUTREACH; WELLNESS CONNECTIONS WORKSHOPS IN MULTIPLE LANGUAGES.
