THE ORGANIZATIONS MISSION IS TO TRANSFORM SURVIVORS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING INTO SOFTWARE PROFESSIONALS TO HELP THEM SUSTAIN A LIFETIME FREE FROM EXPLOITATION. THE ORGANIZATION ENVISIONS A WORLD WHERE ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY CREATES THE CONDITIONS NECESSARY TO GUARANTEE FREEDOM FROM EXPLOITATION.

TRAINING ACTIVITIES CONSIST OF A TWELVE-MONTH CODING BOOTCAMP, AND ADVANCED TRAINING PROGRAM THAT TRAIN ENGINEERS IN-HOUSE FOLLOWING THEIR REFERRAL. THE GOAL IS TO CREATE A VIABLE EXIT RAMP FROM CYCLICAL VIOLENCE AND EXPLOITATION THROUGH SUSTAINABLE ACCESS TO ECONOMIC POWER BY PROVIDING IN-DEMAND AND LUCRATIVE JOB SKILLS TO HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE SURVIVORS. THE PROGRAM IS FREE TO ATTEND. THE OBJECTIVE OF THE TRAINING IS TO SUPPORT STUDENTS TO BUILD SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT SKILLS THAT HELP GRADUATES EARN ECONOMIC POWER THROUGH THE EARNING ACTIVITIES OR IN AN INDEPENDENT EMPLOYMENT ROLE.EARNING ACTIVITIES FOLLOW THE TRAINING PROGRAM. ONCE STUDENTS PASS THEIR WEB DEVELOPMENT QUALIFICATIONS, THEY BECOME ELIGIBLE TO WORK ON PROJECTS FOR THE ORGANIZATIONS CLIENTS. STUDENTS ARE PAID PER THE CLIENT PROJECTS WHILE RECEIVING FURTHER SKILLS THROUGH CONTINUING TRAINING AND ON-THE-JOB JOB COACHING. THE ORGANIZATIONS EARNING PROGRAM IS DEDICATED TO (I) ACQUIRING ECONOMIC POWER IN THE FORM OF SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT FUNDS FROM CLIENTS AND (II) DELIVERING THAT ECONOMIC POWER TO QUALIFIED GRADUATES, ALL OF WHOM ARE SURVIVORS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE.IMPACT TECHNOLOGY ACTIVITIES TAKE PLACE IN BOTH THE ORGANIZATIONS CLASSROOM AND THE WORKSPACE, WHERE STUDENTS, GRADUATES, AND STAFF BRAINSTORM IDEAS OF HOW TO MAKE THE WORLD BETTER THROUGH CUSTOM TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS. THE IMPACT TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM ACTIVITYS GOAL IS TO IMPLEMENT TRAINING PROGRAM CONCEPTS INTO SOFTWARE DESIGN AND PROTOTYPES THAT SURVIVORS OF TRAFFICKING AND GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE PRIORITIZE. THROUGH THESE ACTIVITIES, STUDENTS AND GRADUATES CONTINUE TO GAIN SKILLS AND RECEIVE JOB COACHING WHILE ACCESSING ECONOMIC POWER. THESE PROJECTS HAVE THE ADDED IMPACT OF REACHING USERS OF THE TECHNOLOGY WHO ARE ALSO SURVIVORS AND/OR MEMBERS OF MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES.THESE PROJECTS ARE PAID AND OFTEN USED TO TRAIN STUDENTS IN NEW TECHNOLOGY SKILLS IN A LOW-PRESSURE DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT. THESE PROJECTS RANGE FROM BEING IN THE DESIGN PHASE TO HAVING AN ALPHA PROTOTYPE LIVE AND LAUNCHED. INFORMED BY LIVED EXPERIENCE IN HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE, AS WELL AS THEIR SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT SKILLS, STUDENTS, GRADUATES, AND THE ORGANIZATIONS TEAM OFFER IMPACT TECHNOLOGY WITH THE POTENTIAL TO SERVE MILLIONS MORE INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE VULNERABLE TO AND SURVIVORS OF TRAFFICKING AND GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE.
