WELLFIT ADVENTURE CAMP - 16 MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS PARTICIPATED IN THE 2020 WELLFIT ADVENTURE CAMP PROGRAM. WELLFIT ADVENTURE CAMP (WAC) OFFERS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS TO PARTICIPATE IN THREE WEEKS OF LEADERSHIP, FITNESS AND EMPOWERMENT CURRICULUM. DAILY CAMP ACTIVITIES INCLUDED CREATIVE SELF-EXPRESSION, PERSONAL DISCOVERY, YOGA, FITNESS, MEDITATION, TEAM BUILDING GAMES, CONNECTION AND FUN! THE CAMP CULMINATED WITH A FIVE-DAY EXPEDITION TO CLOUDLAND CANYON STATE PARK IN NORTH GEORGIA WHERE GIRLS HIKE, DO YOGA, PLAY GAMES, COOK THEIR OWN MEALS, CONNECT WITH EACH OTHER, NATURE, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY THEMSELVES.
SUMMIT SISTERS - 31 HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS PARTICIPATED IN THE 2021 SUMMIT SISTERS PROGRAM. SUMMIT SISTERS IS A FIVE-MONTH LEADERSHIP, FITNESS, AND EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS IN LEE AND COLLIER COUNTY. GIRLS MEET TWICE WEEKLY. THE FIRST MEETING OF THE WEEK ALTERNATES BETWEEN LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND INTEGRATED FITNESS. THE SECOND WEEKLY MEETING IS FITNESS FOCUSED. THE PROGRAM BEGAN JANUARY, 25, 2021 AND CULMINATED WITH AN 8-DAY BACKPACKING EXPEDITION TO SOUTHWEST MONTANA IN JUNE. LEADERSHIP ACTIVITIES INCLUDE, VISION AND GOAL SETTING, COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION DISCUSSION, TRUST BUILDING ACTIVITIES, YOGA, MEDITATION, FITNESS AND MORE.THE MULTI-DAY EXPEDITION FOCUSED ON TEACHING GIRLS FUNDAMENTAL OUTDOOR SKILLS SUCH AS COOKING, CAMPING, AND NAVIGATION WHILE DEVELOPING LEADERSHIP SKILLS AS AN INDIVIDUAL AND MEMBER OF AN EXPEDITIONARY GROUP. PARTICIPANTS WERE CHALLENGED PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY WHILE HIKING MOST DAYS WITH HEAVY PACKS IN A CHANGING ALPINE ENVIRONMENT. WHILE NAVIGATING THROUGH MOUNTAIN TERRAIN, GIRLS ENGAGED IN LESSONS ABOUT 'LEAVE NO TRACE' CAMPING PRINCIPLES AND LEARNED HOW TO WORK AS A TEAM TO ACCOMPLISH COMMON EXPEDITION GOALS.
