THE LEADERSHIP GWINNETT FOUNDATION WAS FORMED TO SUPPORT LEADERSHIP GWINNETT, A MULTI-FACETED PROGRAM WHOSE PURPOSE IS TO EDUCATE, EQUIP AND ENGAGE EXISTING AND EMERGING LEADERS. THE FOUNDATION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ADMINISTERING PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE CITIZENS THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPAND THEIR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT GWINNETT COUNTY AND THE REGION TO BUILD DEEP CONNECTIONS IN ORDER TO SERVE AND STRENGTHEN THE COMMUNITY. PROGRAMS, DESIGNED FOR NEW PARTICIPANTS AS WELL AS ALUMNI, ENCOURAGE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND FACILITATE LEARNING THROUGH A DIVERSITY OF PEOPLE, THOUGHTS AND EXPERIENCES. ALL ARE DESIGNED TO LEAD GWINNETT TO A BETTER FUTURE. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: TO IDENTIFY AND INSPIRE EXISTING AND EMERGING COMMUNITY LEADERS. TO ACQUAINT LEADERS WITH MAJOR COMMUNITY ISSUES. TO EXAMINE THE COMPLEXITY OF FINDING GOOD SOLUTIONS FOR ONGOING CONCERNS. TO GIVE PARTICIPANTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET AND INTERACT WITH COMMUNITY LEADERS. TO INVESTIGATE ETHICS AND VALUES. TO ASSIST PARTI

Part 3 - Line 4a

AFTER WAITING A LONG YEAR, THE RENAMED CLASS OF 2022 KICKED OFF THEIR EXPERIENCE WITH AN IN-PERSON RETREAT IN OCTOBER 2021 AND FINISHED UP THEIR YEAR WITH GRADUATION IN MAY 2022. THEY ARE KNOWN AS "THE LONGEST CLASS EVER- AND THEIR COMMITMENT TO OUR COMMUNITY IS STRONG. THE CLASS CONSISTED OF 42 INDIVIDUALS DEDICATED TO LEADERSHIP IN THE GWINNETT COUNTY AREA. THE LEARNING DAYS WERE HELD IN PERSON EXCEPT FOR ONE THAT WAS HELD VIRTUALLY DUE TO A SPIKE IN COVID. INTEREST IN LEADERSHIP GWINNETT REMAINS ROBUST AS EVIDENCED BY THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED EACH YEAR. TO FURTHER INCREASE COMMUNITY IMPACT, THE LEADERSHIP GWINNETT FOUNDATION BOARD APPROVED AN INCREASE OF CLASS SIZE TO 48 FOR THE CLASS OF 2023.


THIS 2.5-DAY PROGRAM PROVIDES AN EXCLUSIVE LOOK AT GWINNETT COUNTY. DESIGNED TO INSPIRE PARTICIPANTS THROUGH HANDS-ON LEARNING, GLANCE GWINNETT REVEALS NEW OPPORTUNITIES, IDEAS AND PERSPECTIVES FROM A DIVERSE GROUP OF LOCAL LEADERS. HOW INDIVIDUALS BENEFIT EXPOSURE TO LOCAL LEADERS, ISSUES, AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP NEW FRIENDSHIPS, IDEAS, AND PERSPECTIVES FROM A DIVERSE GROUP OF CIVIC- MINDED PEOPLE HOW ORGANIZATIONS BENEFIT UNIQUE WAY TO ENHANCE OPERATIONAL TRAINING VALUABLE NETWORKING THAT CAN RESULT IN NEW OPPORTUNITIES AND VISIBILITY FOR YOUR ORGANIZATION. DURING THE 2021-2022 YEAR, 86 PEOPLE PARTICIPATED IN GLANCE GWINNETT AND BOTH SESSIONS WERE IN PERSON.


THE LEADERSHIP GWINNETT EXPERIENCE DOES NOT END AFTER GRADUATING. GRADUATES CAN JOIN OUR ALUMNI ASSOCIATION TO CONTINUE THEIR LEADERSHIP JOURNEY, STAY ENGAGED, AND CONNECT, WITH OUR 2,000+ PROGRAM GRADUATES. LISTED BELOW ARE A FEW OF THE EVENTS THAT WERE SPONSORED BY LEADERSHIP GWINNETT FOR CURRENT CLASS MEMBERS AND ALUMNI TO CONTINUE TO FOSTER LEADERSHIP AND CAMARADERIE. LEADERSHIP GWINNETT...THE MUSICAL? WAS PRESENTED BY EDDIE OWEN PRESENTS: RED CLAY MUSIC FOUNDRY AND ATTENDED BY 64 PEOPLE. AN EDUCATIONAL FORUM "CHANGING THE CONVERSATION ABOUT HOMELESSNESS" WAS PRESENTED IN FEBRUARY 2022 AND A TOTAL OF 82 INDIVIDUALS ATTENDED. THE ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARTY WAS ATTENDED BY 132 PEOPLE. A RECEPTION WAS HELD FOR DR. CALVIN WATTS, THE NEW GWINNETT COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT AND WAS ATTENDED BY 131 PEOPLE.
