COLLEGE COACHING - EVOLVE SUPPORTED 101 INDIVIDUALS IN THEIR EFFORTS TO BUILD SKILLS FOR INDEPENDENCE AS THEY TRANSITION TO COLLEGE AND/OR COMPLETE THEIR COLLEGE PROGRAMS. SERVICES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO INDIVIDUAL COACHING SESSIONS TO SUPPORT ORGANIZATION, COMMUNICATION, AND SELF- ADVOCACY, GROUP SESSIONS WITH PEERS, STUDY SUPPORT, AND CHECK-INS OUTSIDE OF REGULAR SESSIONS.
EMPLOYMENT COACHING - 92 INDIVIDUALS WERE SERVED IN GAINING FIRST-TIME WORK EXPERIENCES INCLUDING JOB SHADOWING AND PAID TEMPORARY WORK, FINDING LONGTIME WORK, AND MAINTAINING EMPLOYMENT. COACHES SUPPORTED INDIVIDUALS WITH IDENTIFYING AREAS OF INTEREST FOR WORK, CREATING RESUMES, PRACTICAL SUPPORT WITH SOFT SKILLS FOR THE WORK ENVIRONMENT, AND SELF- ADVOCACY IN THE WORKPLACE INCLUDING WHEN/HOW/IF TO DISCLOSE A DISABILITY.
ARTS PROGRAMMING - 61 INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATED IN PROGRAMS INCLUDING AN ARTS AND PERFORMANCE CAMP, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS, AND GALLERY SHOWS, ALL OF WHICH ARE THOUGHTFULLY DESIGNED TO PREPARE YOUNG PEOPLE FOR THE WORLD OF WORK AS THEY PARTICIPATE IN PROJECTS THAT REQUIRE COLLABORATION, CRITICAL THINKING, AND SELF-ADVOCACY.
SOCIAL GROUPS - COLLEGE STUDENTS AND JOB SEEKERS MEET WITH THEIR PEERS AND EVOLVE COACHES TO SHARE THEIR SELF-DETERMINED GOALS AND WORK TOWARD BUILDING INDEPENDENCE. COACHES REVIEW SOCIAL EXPECTATIONS IN THE WORKPLACE AND AT SCHOOL, DISCUSS THE IMPORTANCE OF SELF-ADVOCACY, AND WORK WITH GROUP MEMBERS TO PROBLEM SOLVE WHEN THEY EXPERIENCE CHALLENGES. TRAININGS & CONSULTATION - EVOLVE PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES TO EMPLOYERS, UNIVERSITIES, AND COMMUNITY GROUPS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT OFFERING A WELCOMING AND SUPPORTIVE SPACE FOR PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. ENRICHMENT & ENROLLMENT - PROGRAM OFFERS INTENSIVE COACHING SUPPORT TO BUILD CONFIDENCE, ASSESS CAREER INTERESTS, AND IMPROVE COMFORT ENGAGING IN SELF-ADVOCACY - ALL WITH THE GOAL OF SUPPORTING STUDENTS AS THEY APPLY TO AT LEAST ONE COLLEGE, TECHNICAL, OR APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM. WITH THIS PROGRAM, EVOLVE IS ADDRESSING THE "SERVICES CLIFF" WITH WHICH AUTISTIC AND OTHER NEURODIVERSE STUDENTS ARE FACED WHEN THEY GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL, AND THE DISPARITY OF NEURODIVERSE REPRESENTATION IN POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION.
