CONFLICT RESOLUTION SERVICES- NEW YORK PEACE INSTITUTE (NYPI) PROVIDES CONFLICT RESOLUTION SERVICES IN THE FORM OF MEDIATION, CONFLICT COACHING, RESTORATIVE PROCESSES, AND GROUP FACILITATION. OUR FREE SERVICES ARE A RESOURCE TO THOUSANDS OF NEW YORKERS FACING CONFLICT EACH YEAR. NYPI SERVES AS THE DESIGNATED COMMUNITY DISPUTE RESOLUTION CENTER FOR BOTH NEW YORK AND KINGS COUNTIES, AND HAS PROVIDED MEDIATION WITHIN AND OUTSIDE OF THE COURT SYSTEM FOR ALMOST 40 YEARS. WHETHER ASSISTING PARENTS WORKING OUT A CUSTODY AGREEMENT, MEDIATING A NOISE DISPUTE BETWEEN NEIGHBORS, DIVERTING A MISDEMEANOR CASE FROM COURT, OR ADDREESING CONFLICT BETWEEN A PARENT AND SCHOOL REGARDING A STUDENT WITH SPECIAL NEEDS, ALL OF OUR SERVICES FOSTER LISTENING, EMPATHY, AND COMMUNICATION AMONG OUR CLIENTS AND EMPOWER THEM TO DEVELOP THEIR OWN CREATIVE SOLUTIONS TO THEIR DISPUTES.
TRAINING- NYPI PROVIDES COMMUNICATION AND CONFLICT MANAGEMENT SKILLS TRAINING TO A BROAD RANGE OF ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING CITY AGENCIES, NON-PROFITS, LABOR UNIONS, SCHOOLS, AND BUSINESSES. WE ALSO SERVE AS A TRAINING INSTITUTE FOR INDIVIDUALS AND OFFER BASIC AND ADVANCED MEDIATION TRAINING AND CREDENTIALING THROUGH RIGOROUS, HANDS-ON PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS, A MULTI-WEEK APPRENTICESHIP, AND SPECIALIZED TRAININGS AND ONGOING SKILLS TRAINING IN TOPICS INCLUDING DIVORCE, CIVIL COURT, HOUSING COURT AND SPECIAL EDUCATION MEDIATION.
