THE ORGANIZATION SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCHED THE RURAL IMPERATIVE INITIATIVE AS PART OF THE I AM A RURAL TEACHER PROJECT THAT PROVIDED TOOLS FOR AND GAVE VOICE TO RURAL CLASSROOM TEACHERS FROM ACROSS THE WORLD. THIS INCLUDED A "TEACH RURAL JOB BOARD", A "RURAL TEACHER RESILIENCY GUIDE", AND STORIES AND CELEBRATION OF THE RURAL TEACHING PROFESSION.
THE GRANTS IN PLACE FELLOWS PROGRAM AWARDED MODEST GRANTS TO RURAL TEACHERS IN SUPPORT OF PLACE-BASED EDUCATION PROJECTS. ELEVEN FELLOWS WERE SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM.
RURAL SCHOOLS COLLABORATIVE CONTINUED TO SUPPORT PLACE-BASED EDUCATION THROUGH A SIGNATURE PROJECT AWARD TO A RURAL TEACHER AS PART OF THE NATIONAL SIGNATURE PROJECT AWARD GRANT PROGRAM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NATIONAL RURAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION.
