OUR MISSION IS TO CREATE A THRIVING REGION IN THE MONTEREY BAY AREA, WITH QUALITY JOBS, EXCELLENT EDUCATION AND HEALTH CARE, WHILE PRESERVING THE NATURAL BEAUTY AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLE WE ALL SHARE. WE FOCUS ON ENSURING THE AVAILABILITY OF SAFE AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR OUR RESIDENTS. ANOTHER INITIATIVE IS TO PROVIDE HIGH-SPEED, RELIABLE AND AFFORDABLE INTERNET SERVICE FOR ALL OF OUR RESIDENTS. A THIRD INITIATIVE FOCUSES ON BUILDING MOMENTUM TO HELP LOCAL BUSINESSES HIRE LOCAL TALENT AND PROVIDING RESOURCES TO ENABLE RESIDENTS TO MAKE A LIVING WAGE. IN 2019 MBEP LAUNCHED AN INITIATIVE TO ADDRESS CLIMATE CHANGE, AN ISSUE INTERWOVEN WITH EVERY OTHER ITEM ON OUR AGENDA TO DATE.
THE MONTEREY BAY ECONOMIC PARTNERSHIP (MBEP) HOSTS 2 REGIONAL EVENTS EACH YEAR: THE STATE OF THE REGION, AND A REGIONAL ECONOMIC SUMMIT. THESE EVENTS HIGHLIGHT EXCITING AND INNOVATIVE COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS THAT TRANSFORM THE MONTEREY BAY REGIONAL ECONOMY. THE ECONOMIC SUMMIT IS A SHOWCASE OF ORGANIZATIONS MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT IN THE REGION'S ECONOMY. THE STATE OF THE REGION DELVES INTO ISSUES THAT UNDERPIN THE REGION'S VITALITY SUCH AS EDUCATION, HOUSING, INFRASTRUCTURE AND PUBLIC SAFETY.
