OUR VISION IS TO CREATE COMMUNITIES FOR INTELLECTUALLY AND DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED PEOPLE THAT PROVIDE 1) DIGNIFIED HOUSING, 2) DIGNIFIED LIFESTYLES AND 3) QUALITY RELATIONSHIPS, BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE ESTABLISHED COMMUNITIES. THIS VISION INCLUDES COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT THROUGH EMPLOYMENT AND MEANINGFUL OPPORTUNITIES TO VOLUNTEER. VILLA DE VIDA INC. VILLA DE VIDA BUILT (OPENED MAY 2021) AN APARTMENT COMMUNITY TO PROVIDE INDEPENDENT HOUSING OPTIONS FOR ADULTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS HELPING EACH PERSON TO ENJOY THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF INDEPENDENCE POSSIBLE AND TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMMUNITY. VILLA DE VIDA WILL ENCOURAGE AND AID RESIDENTS WITH SOCIAL INTERACTIONS. EACH INDIVIDUAL WILL BE SUPPORTED TO DEVELOP THOSE SKILLS NEEDED TO ENGAGE IN A VARIETY OF SOCIAL EXCHANGES. BEHAVIORAL CHALLENGES INDICATING WEAKNESSES IN ANY SOCIAL ABILITIES WILL BE ADDRESSED THROUGH CREATING INDIVIDUAL GOALS, AND PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES TO BUILD THESE CAPACITIES THROUGH PRACTICE, ENCOURAGEMENT, AND GUIDED FACILITATION IN NATURAL ENVIRONMENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES.
