FOOD RESCUE PROGRAM - IN 2021, HOLE FOOD RESCUE (HFR) DIVERTED 283,842 POUNDS OF NUTRITIOUS FOOD FROM GOING TO WASTE, TRANSLATING TO OVER 200,000 POUNDS OF FOOD BEING REDISTRIBUTED TO FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY. HFR IS SUPPORTED BY A TEAM OF 130 VOLUNTEERS THAT RESCUE FOOD SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, 364 DAYS A YEAR.
FOOD RECIPIENT PROGRAM - HOLE FOOD RESCUE'S FOOD FOR THE COMMUNITY PROGRAM / COMIDA DE LA COMUNIDAD IS A DIRECT-TO-COMMUNITY MODEL THAT FOCUSES ON REDUCING BARRIERS INHERENT TO TRADITIONAL FOOD ACCESS SUCH AS TIME, LOCATION, LANGUAGE, AND CHOICE. THESE PROGRAMS HAVE GROWN TO BE STAPLES IN THEIR RESPECTIVE COMMUNITIES, SEEING ~900 INDIVIDUAL VISITS MONTHLY.
SPROUT PROGRAM - HFR'S SPROUT PROGRAM REFERS TO ALL PROGRAMS WITH THE EFFORT TO REDUCE CHILDHOOD HUNGER. SPROUT SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM ENSURES THAT ALL CHILDREN HAVE A HEALTHY LUNCH OVER THE SUMMER MONTHS WHEN SCHOOL IS NOT IN SESSION. SPROUT WEEKEND FOOD BAGS PROVIDES A BAG OF NUTRITIOUS GROCERIES TO FAMILIES OVER THE WEEK- ENDS DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR.
