STORYTELLING FOR LEADERSHIP: RESONATE'S CORE PROGRAM IS OUR STORYTELLING FOR LEADERSHIP PROGRAM. THROUGH THIS TWO-DAY TRAINING, PARTICIPANTS LEARN TO REDEFINE LEADERSHIP SO THAT IT IS ACCESSIBLE, IDENTIFY THEIR VALUES, AND HOW THEY HAVE DRIVEN THE CHOICES IN THEIR LIVES, AND TELL A CONFIDENT LEADERSHIP STORY THAT REPRESENTS WHO THEY ARE. THROUGH THIS PROGRAM, WOMEN GAIN THE CONFIDENCE AND ABILITY TO ADVOCATE FOR THEMSELVES AND OTHERS AND MAKE THE CHANGE THEY WISH TO SEE IN THEIR LIVES AND COMMUNITIES. IN ORDER TO TACKLE WOMEN AND YOUTH UNEMPLOYEMENT, TEENAGE PREGNANCIES, AND LOW PARTICIPATION OF WOMEN IN SCIENCE,TECHNOLOGY AND MATHEMATICS, WE HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTING THREE COMMUNITY PROGRAMS NAMELY: GIRA UBUSHOBOZI "BE POWERFUL", SPEAK FOR CHANGE, AND RISE &STEM PROGRAMS TO ENSURE TO TACKLE THE ABOVE MENTIONED CHALLENGES IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS. IN 2023, WE TRAINED DIRECTLY 6,147 AND REACHED OVER 2,000 STUDENTS DURING THE 16 DAYS OF THE ACTIVISM CAMPAIGN AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE. AS A RESULT, 87% TOOK INFORMAL LEADERSHIP ROLES, 72% JOINED SAVING GROUPS, 33 % STARTED INCOME-GENERATING ACTIVITIES/BUSINESSES, 38% GOT A PROMOTION (GOT A NEW JOB/WORK PROMOTION), AND 11% TOOK FORMAL LEADERSHIP ROLES. 90% INCREASED IN LEADERSHIP.
OTHER PROGRAMS.
TRAINING OF FACILITATORS (TOF): THROUGH AN INTENSIVE LEARNING PROCESS, RESONATE TRAINS FACILITATORS FROM A PARTNER ORGANIZATION'S STAFF TO DELIVER RESONATE STORYTELLING FOR LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS. IT ALLOWS PARTNERS TO REWARD AND DEVELOP HIGH-POTENTIAL EMPLOYEES BY NOMINATING THEM TO TAKE PART IN THE TOF PROGRAM WHERE THEY BUILD THEIR FACILITATION AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS. IN 2023 WE TRAINED 27 FACILITATORS IN OUR TRAINING OF FACILITATORS PROGRAM.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: RESONATE'S PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM WORKS WITH PROFESSIONALS TO DEVELOP THE SOFT SKILLS NEEDED TO PERFORM WELL IN THE WORKPLACE. BY COMBINING TECHNICAL TRAINING WITH SOFT SKILLS LIKE COMMUNICATION, TEAM BUILDING, PRIORITIZATION, PROFESSIONAL READINESS, SEEKING OUT OPPORTUNITIES AND GOAL SETTING, RESONATE HELPS PROFESSIONALS IN EAST AFRICA LEARN THE LEADERSHIP SKILLS NECESSARY TO ADVANCE IN THEIR CAREERS. IN 2023, WE TRAINED 16 PARTICIPANTS IN OUR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.
