TOWARDS JUSTICE IS A NONPROFIT LAW FIRM THAT SEEKS TO ADVANCE ECONOMIC EQUITY AND WORKER POWER THROUGH IMPACT LITIGATION, STRATEGIC POLICY ADVOCACY, AND COLLABORATION WITH ORGANIZERS AND PUBLIC AGENCIES. WE WERE FOUNDED IN RESPONSE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF WAGE THEFT COMPLAINTS THAT WERE NOT BEING ADDRESSED IN COLORADO, BUT HAVE SINCE BROADENED OUR SCOPE TO TAKE ON CASES THAT DISMANTLE THE POWER IMBALANCES THAT UNDERMINE THE VALUE OF WORK AND DIMINISH WORKER RIGHTS.

TOWARDS JUSTICE IS A NON-PROFIT LAW FIRM THAT ATTACKS ECONOMIC INEQUALITY WITH A FOCUS ON WORKPLACE ECONOMIC INJUSTICE. WE USE IMPACT LITIGATION TO ADVANCE HUMAN AND CIVIL RIGHTS SUPPLEMENTED WITH TARGETED AND STRATEGIC POLICY ADVOCACY AND COLLABORATION WITH WORKERS AND COMMUNITIES TO ATTACK SYSTEMIC INJUSTICES THAT UNDERMINE THE POWER OF WORKERS-IN PARTICULAR, IN 2021, TOWARDS JUSTICE CONTINUED TO USE LITIGATION TO PROTECT WORKERS DEALING WITH COVID-19 RELATED HAZARDS IN THE WORKPLACE. THIS LITIGATION INCLUDED CASES BROUGHT AGAINST ADMINISTRATIVE AGENCIES FOR ALLEGEDLY FAILING TO PROTECT WORKERS FROM COVID-19 RELATED RISKS AND BROUGHT BY WORKERS AGAINST EMPLOYERS WHO ALLEGEDLY FORCED WORKERS TO STAND IN LINE FOR COVID-19 HEALTH AND SAFETY SCREENINGS WITHOUT COMPENSATION. ADDITIONALLY, IN 2021, TOWARDS JUSTICE WORKED CLOSELY WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO PUSH FOR EXPANDED WORKER PROTECTIONS. MOST IMPORTANTLY, WE PROVIDED TECHNICAL, LEGAL, AND DRAFTING SUPPORT TO PARTNERS PUSHING FOR EXPANDED RIGHTS FOR FARMWORKERS IN COLORADO. AFTER THE ENACTMENT OF THE AGRICULTURAL WORKERS BILL OF RIGHTS, WE ALSO ADVOCATED BEFORE THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT FOR RULES THAT WOULD PROTECT FARMWORKERS FROM WAGE THEFT AND FROM THE HAZARDS CAUSED BY CLIMATE CHANGE, INCLUDING SMOKE AND RISING TEMPERATURES.
