Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
THROUGH VARIOUS GOLF AND OTHER FUNDRAISING VENUES, WE PROVIDE SUPPORT TO GRASSROOTS ORGANIZATIONS SERVING THE NEEDS OF WOMEN, GIRLS AND CHILDREN IN OUR COMMUNITY. WE CAREFULLY SELECT ANNUAL BENEFICIARIES THROUGH A FORMAL GRANT APPLICATION PROCESS.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
BEING SELECTED AS ONE OF THE 80 NATIONAL CHARITIES SUPPORTED BY LIBERTY MUTUAL HAS BEEN A MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT FOR SWP. WITH THE LIBERTY MUTUAL INVITATIONAL (LMI) SPONSORSHIP BENEFITTING SWINGING WITH PURPOSE(TM) (SWP), WE HAVE INCREASED THE VALUE AND EXPERIENCE OF THE GOLF TOURNAMENT FOR THE PLAYERS. THE LMI PROVIDES A SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE VALUED AT $50,000 AND REDUCES THE SWP EXPENSES AND GIVES US AN OPPORTUNITY TO INCREASE THE TOURNAMENT FEES. THE TOURNAMENT RESULTS PROVIDE A GREATER RETURN (NET AFTER EXPENSES) FOR OUR BENEFICIARIES. THE INAUGURAL LMI GOLF TOURNAMENT WAS HELD IN MAY 2018. SWP ALSO DOES MISCELLANEOUS FUNDRAISING VENUES TO BUILD A FUND TO SUPPORT UNFORESEEN NEEDS OF SMALLER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS DURING THE YEAR. AS A RESULT, WE WERE ABLE TO PROVIDE MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND COVID RELIEF TO SUCH ORGANIZATIONS. THESE ORGANIZATIONS MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE BEEN WITHIN THE FAMILY OF 2021 BENEFICIARIES BUT WERE LIKELY RECIPIENTS OF SWP SUPPORT IN THE PAST. WE BELIEVE ONCE A BENEFICIARY, YOU ARE ALWAYS IN THE SWP FAMILY. THIS WAS A LESSON LEARNED AS A RESULT OF HURRICANE IRMA WHEN WE WERE ABLE TO STEP IN AND OFFER ASSISTANCE FROM AN EMERGENCY FUND HELD BY SWP.
