MAKING LIVE THEATRE ACCESSIBLE TO OUR COMMUNITY: SERVANT STAGE PRESENTED 61 PAY-WHAT-YOU-WILL PUBLIC PERFORMANCES IN THEATERS, PARKS, AND OTHER COMMUNITY VENUES, FEATURING 6 MAIN-STAGE PRODUCTIONS, AS WELL AS OTHER CONCERTS AND SMALLER EVENTS. THESE PRODUCTIONS REACHED OVER 16,500 AUDIENCE MEMBERS THROUGHOUT LANCASTER COUNTY AND BEYOND DURING THIS COVID-RESTRICED YEAR. SERVANT STAGE EMPLOYED OVER 100 THEATRE PROFESSIONALS (DIRECTORS, DESIGNERS, ACTORS, MUSICIANS, ETC.) ALONG WITH STAFF AND 200+ VOLUNTEERS TO PROVIDE OVER 35,000 HOURS OF SERVICE.
EDUCATION: SERVANT STAGE COMPANY SEEKS TO MAKE THEATRE EDUCATION IN LANCASTER COUNTY EASILY ACCESSIBLE FOR STUDENTS OF ALL ABILITIES AND BACKGROUNDS (ESPECIALLY THOSE WITH FINANCIAL LIMITATIONS) BY OFFERING FREE OR AFFORDABLE ARTS EDUCATION PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. OUR THEATRE EDUCATION PROGRAMS INVOLVED: 1. OVER 250 STUDENTS AGES 8-19, PARTICIPATING IN 7 YOUTH PRODUCTIONS OR MUSICALS. 2. 33 PAY-WHAT-YOU-WILL WEEKLY THEATRE CLASSES ALLOWING 109 STUDENTS OF ALL AGES TO TAKE CLASSES FROM 16 LOCAL PROFESSIONALS IN ALL ASPECTS OF THEATRE, INCLUDING ACTING, SINGING, DANCING, DIRECTING, COSTUME DESIGN, TECHNICAL THEATRE, AUDITIONS, COLD-READS, ACTING FOR FILM, SHAKESPEARE, ETC. 3. TEEN AND APPRENTICE COMPANIES (TEENCO AND APPCO) PROVIDING 29 STUDENTS WITH WEEKLY CLASSES IN THEATRE DISCIPLINES.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH: THE COVID PANDEMIC SEVERELY RESTRICTED SERVANT STAGE COMPANY'S TOURING SEASON, BUT WE WERE ABLE TO PRESENT 23 TOURING PERFORMANCES TO 26 RETIREMENT HOMES, SCHOOLS, CHURCHES, AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, BRINGING PROFESSIONAL THEATRE DIRECTLY TO NEARLY 7,000 ELDERLY PEOPLE, STUDENTS, AND LOW-INCOME FAMILIES THAT ARE OFTEN UNABLE TO GO TO THE THEATRE. 200 VOLUNTEERS, INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS, AND STAFF PROVIDED OVER 7,000 HOURS OF SERVICE. SHOW WERE ALSO STREAMED ONLINE AND DVD'S OF PAST SHOWS HAVE BEEN SENT TO RETIREMENT HOMES FOR BROADCASTING TO RESIDENT ROOMS.
