MAKING LIVE THEATRE ACCESSIBLE TO OUR COMMUNITY: SERVANT STAGE PRESENTED 90 PAY-WHAT-YOU-WILL PUBLIC PERFORMANCES IN THEATERS, PARKS, AND OTHER COMMUNITY VENUES, FEATURING 4 MAIN-STAGE PRODUCTIONS, AS WELL AS OTHER CONCERTS AND SMALLER EVENTS. THESE PRODUCTIONS REACHED NEARLY 44,000 AUDIENCE MEMBERS THROUGHOUT LANCASTER COUNTY AND BEYOND. SERVANT STAGE EMPLOYED OVER 170 THEATRE PROFESSIONALS (DIRECTORS, DESIGNERS, ACTORS, MUSICIANS, ETC.) ALONG WITH STAFF AND 400+ VOLUNTEERS TO PROVIDE OVER 80,000 HOURS OF SERVICE.
EDUCATION: SERVANT STAGE COMPANY SEEKS TO MAKE THEATRE EDUCATION IN LANCASTER COUNTY EASILY ACCESSIBLE FOR STUDENTS OF ALL ABILITIES AND BACKGROUNDS (ESPECIALLY STUDENTS WITH FINANCIAL LIMITATIONS) BY OFFERING FREE OR AFFORDABLE ARTS EDUCATION PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. OUR THEATRE EDUCATION PROGRAMS INVOLVED: 1. OVER 250 STUDENTS AGES 8-19, PARTICIPATING IN 6 YOUTH PRODUCTIONS OR MUSICALS. 2. 53 PAY-WHAT-YOU-WILL WEEKLY THEATRE CLASSES ALLOWING 216 STUDENTS OF ALL AGES TO TAKE CLASSES FROM 25 LOCAL PROFESSIONALS IN ALL ASPECTS OF THEATRE, INCLUDING ACTING, SINGING, DANCING, DIRECTING, COSTUME DESIGN, TECHNICAL THEATRE, AUDITIONS, COLD-READS, ACTING FOR FILM, SHAKESPEARE, ETC. TOTAL ATTENDANCE WAS 500 STUDENTS. 3. SERVANT STAGE YOUTH COMPANIES (TEEN, APPRENTICE, AND JUNIOR) ARE TRAINING GROUNDS FOR PERFORMERS AGES 12-19 WHO WISH TO CONTINUE TO HONE THEIR THEATRE SKILLS, AND WHO ARE CONSIDERING PURSUING THEATRE AS AN INTEREST BEYOND HIGH SCHOOL. OVEE 50 STUDENTS RECEIVE WEEKLY CLASSES IN ACTING, DANCING, AND SINGING TAUGHT BY AN EXPERIENCED PANEL OF INSTRUCTORS FROM HERE IN LANCASTER AS WELL AS VISITING INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS. STUDENTS ALSO RECEIVE SPECIALTY LESSONS IN AUDITION PREPARATION, HEADSHOT/RESUMES, NETWORKING, AND GENERAL THEATRE DISCIPLINES.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH: THROUGH SERVANT STAGE COMPANY'S 2022 TOURING SEASON, WE WERE ABLE TO PRESENT 66 TOURING PERFORMANCES TO 33 RETIREMENT HOMES, SCHOOLS, CHURCHES, AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, BRINGING PROFESSIONAL THEATRE DIRECTLY TO OVER 15,000 ELDERLY, STUDENTS, AND LOW-INCOME FAMILIES THAT ARE OFTEN UNABLE TO GO TO THE THEATRE. 400 VOLUNTEERS, INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS, AND STAFF PROVIDED OVER 17,000 HOURS OF SERVICE. SHOW WERE ALSO STREAMED ONLINE AND DVD'S OF PAST SHOWS HAVE BEEN SENT TO RETIREMENT HOMES FOR BROADCASTING TO RESIDENT ROOMS. LIFT EV'RY VOICE" WAS AN ORIGINAL SHOW, CREATED BY SERVANT STAGE AS AN EDUCATIONAL THEATRE PRODUCTION TO TOUR TO LOCAL SCHOOLS. CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY IN AMERICA, THIS PRODUCTION FEATURED A CAST OF 4 PROFESSIONAL ACTORS AND TOURED TO 5 SCHOOLS IN LANCASTER COUNTY REACHING 1,051 STUDENTS.
