GENERATOR IS A COMBINATION OF ARTIST STUDIO, CLASSROOM, AND BUSINESS INCUBATOR AT THE INTERSECTION OF ART, SCIENCE, AND TECHNOLOGY. WE PROVIDE TOOLS, EXPERTISE, EDUCATION AND OPPORTUNITY TO ENABLE ALL MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY TO CREATE, COLLABORATE, AND TO MAKE THEIR IDEAS REALITY. GENERATOR PROVIDES YOUTH STEM/STEAM AND WORK-BASED LEARNING PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH AROUND VERMONT; HANDS-ON, EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION FOR ADULTS OF ALL AGES; AND MEMBERSHIP FOR SHARED WORKSHOPS INCLUDING WOOD, METAL, JEWELRY, RAPID PROTOTYPING, SEWING, ELECTRONICS, AND A COMPUTER LAB WITH DESIGN SOFTWARE.

GENERATOR PROVIDES TOOLS AND COMMUNITY ACCESSIBLE SPACE TO OVER 200 EDUCATORS, MAKERS, ARTISTS AND ENTREPRENERUS. IN ADDITION, OUTREACH EFFORTS HAVE INCLUDED A "MAKER IN RESIDENCE" PROGRAM, WHICH HAS GIVEN NINE MAKERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK COLLABORATIVELY WITH OUR COMMUNITY TO SOLVE A TECHNICAL OR ARTISTIC CHALLENGE. "BIG MAKER" SPEAKER SERIES BRINGS INNOVATORS TO VERMONT TO INSPIRE AND CONNECT WITH THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE. GENERATOR HAS BEEN WORKING CLOSELY WITH A SELECT GROUP OF LOCAL MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS TO UNDERSTAND HOW WE CAN SUPPORT THE MOVEMENT TOWARDS STEM- BASED CURRICULUM, HANDS ON INSTRUCTION THROUGH PROJECT-BASED LEARNING, AND PERSONALIZED LEARNING PLANS: MAKER TEACHING ASSISTANTS, MAKERS IN THE CLASSROOM AND EDUCATOR IN RESIDENCE PROGRAMS.
