THE BLACK LEADERSHIP COALITION (BLAC), A 501C(4), WAS FORMED IN 2015 TO RAISE THE VOICES OF BLACK PEOPLE AND PEOPLE OF COLOR COMMUNITIES IN NEW YORK CITY AND THROUGHOUT THE DIASPORA. IN THE LAST FIVE YEARS, THE BLACK INSTITUTE, BLAC'S C3-ARM, HAS ORGANIZED LOW-INCOME BLACK IMMIGRANT WOMEN, CLERGY, PUBLIC HOUSING RESIDENTS, AND OTHER MARGINALIZED POPULATIONS, WITH A STRATEGIC FOCUS ON CARIBBEAN AMERICANS, TO BUILD LEADERSHIP AND MOBILIZE FOR REFORM IN THEIR WORKPLACES AND THEIR CITY, STATE, AND COUNTRY.
