THE PTG WAS FORMED FOR THE CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE OF PROMOTING THE EDUCATION AND WELFARE OF STUDENTS ATTENDING THE EAST GREENWICH RHODE ISLAND PUBLIC SCHOOLS. THE PTG IS RUN BY VOLUNTEERS WHO RAISE MONEY AND ORGANIZE PROGRAMS TO ENRICH THE STUDENTS EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE.

ACTIVITIES IN 1 HIGH SCHOOL, 1 MIDDLE SCHOOL AND 4 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS COORDINATED BY THE PTG. VARIOUS EVENTS INCLUDE PASTA NIGHT, TALENT SHOWS, SCHOOL PLAYS, BOYS EVENTS,GIRLS EVENTS, FALL FESTIVALS, CARNIVALS, ICE CREAM SOCIALS, ART NIGHTS, FUN FEST, WELCOME PICNICS, GRADUATION AND MOVING UP CEREMONITES, BOOK FAIRS, FAMILY PORTRAITS. THE GROUP ALSO HELPS BRING CULTURAL PROJECTS INTO THE SCHOOLS AND PROVIDE SUBSTANCE ABUSE EDUCATION, GRANTS TO STUDENT GROUPS.
ACQUISTION OF LIBRARY BOOKS, EQUIPMENT, SCHOOL BEAUTIFICATION AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO BE USED IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS FOR AND BY STUDENTS
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS IN EAST GREENWICH RHODE ISLAND PROVIDE GROUP LEARNING AND ALSO ONE-ON-ONE LEARNING, AS NEEDED, FOR EACH STUDENT. THERE ARE TIMES DURING THE SCHOOL DAY; EXTRA TIME IS NEEDED TO FULLY UNDERSTAND A LESSON IN A PARTICULAR SUBJECT. SOMETIMES TIME IS NOT ALLOTTED TO COMPLETE AN ASSIGNMENT. AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS IN EAST GREENWICH RI WILL ALLOW EXTRA UNDERSTANDING AND TIME AS NEEDED. THIS ALSO WILL ELIMINATE HAVING TO COMPLETE THE HOMEWORK AT HOME WHICH WILL CUT INTO QUALITY FAMILY TIME.
