AKRON CHILDREN'S MUSEUM IS A GATHERING PLACE FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES, WHERE PLAY INSPIRES EXPLORATION, DISCOVERY, AND PROBLEM SOLVING. ACM ENVISIONS A COMMUNITY SHAPED BY LIFELONG LEARNERS, WHO PROVIDE INNOVATIVE LEADERSHIP INSPIRED BY CREATIVITY AND DIVERSE PERSPECTIVES.

THE AKRON CHILDREN'S MUSEUM REOPENED ITS DOORS IN SEPTEMBER 2021 AFTER BEING UNABLE TO SERVE VISITORS IN PERSON SINCE THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2020 DUE TO COVID-19. UPON REOPENING THE MUSEUM STRONG EFFORTS WERE MADE TO BEGAN REBUILDING THE VISITOR BASE, EXPANDING OUTREACH EFFORTS AND CONTINUING TO FULFILLING THE MISSION OF THE MUSEUM THOROUGH PROGRAMMING TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY. LASTLY, THE MUSEUM WAS ABLE TO REIGNITE ITS CAPITAL CAMPAIGN AND SUCCEEDED IN MEETING THE MAJORITY OF THE 500,000 GOAL, POST- PANDEMIC. CONSTRUCTION IS TO BEGIN QUARTER 3 OF 2022 WITH AN EXPECTATION OF IT BEING NEAR COMPLETION AT THE END OF THE CALENDAR YEAR.
